Need to make final appliance decision

I'm finally at the point where I need to make my decisions on my appliances. We are going to be doing a complete kitchen gut. I am hoping my kitchen achieves the sleek, modern image that I have in my mind. I have studied all the major brands and looked at many in person.

I've been lurking here for the last six months. So here's what I think I want.....

Refrigerator: Samsung 4-Door #RF4287 SS this is the new FD model

Cooking: Electrolux Icon 36" Full Induction Cooktop

Ovens: Electrolux Icon High-Speed Microwave E30S075FPS this will go in the wall above the Electrolux Icon 30" Single Wall Oven #E30EW75GSS

Dishwasher: Electrolux Icon EDW7505HSS

Please let me know what you think. I also wonder if there are any new models coming, but haven't heard anything yet. I'm trying to not make any big mistakes.

I concurr with your cooking choices, I have the Elux Icon Oven and Elux Speed oven as well as their Induction cooktop, all trouble free, and the cooktop seems to be one of the quieter ones (compared to clicks, squeals,buzzes fans noices etc) that we have seen posted about some Induction cooktop/induction ranges. (I don't have any teens around but I suspect if it squealed anywhere near the human range of hearing , my cats would let me know).

We see few post about Elux DW's and the few we have seen, have not been "all that positive" so you many want to do some more "Investigation" There. Most post "consistently" rate the Miele and KitcheAid Dishwasher most positively--yea you can always find a negative review about either DW, but positive reviews seem to be much more so then Asko or Bosch (Bosch see quite a few post where they state new ones aren't as good as old ones).

Thank you Gary. We looked at all the dishwashers and really like features that the Elux Icon has but that is the one appliance I am the most concerned about.

We are down to our final choices before making choices. With budgets in mind we picked what we thought would be great products and hopefully low maintance- no issues 30 inch double oven - torn between 2 Thermador- love this one-- Masterpiece SS MED302ES $3199 I hear through posts people like Miele- so we would have to go look at this. But what i like about Thermador I'm not sure Miele offers- Rolling Rack, both ovens self cleaning, fairly big inside (i think miele might be smaller inside?( Model H 4890 BP2 Masterchef and also closer to $5000 Refridgerator - Amana French Door Model AF12538AES 36 inch $2159 ice and water on door- stainless steel - 36 inches deep- we would recess into closet Microwave- Sharp- dont have a model number- need a built in -- Rangetop- 36 inch Wolf $3000 with 6 burners open burners (any others we should consider?) I want EASY CLEAN UP!! Dishwasher- torn b/w 2 Miele - Optima-- Cabinet ready approx $1500-- opinions welcome! vs Kitchen Aid Architect II KUDT03FT--- $1000 T series Looking for a quiet dishwasher that cleans well and doesnt require a lot of energy spent worrying about "where" things MUST go to get clean. Is it a good thing or a bad thing that the output of the proposed furnace will be less than that of the current Trane furnace? I notice on the carrier website that the Infinity 80 (which I think is what the #58CVA070-12 is) is not Energy Star certified and does not have a media filter cabinet. Is this important? It seems like most people think it is better to change everything at once. If I do pay $2,000 more to change out the furnace for the Carrier, it is only $450 more to upgrade to the two stage Infinity 17 AC (#24ANB724) or $1,250 to upgrade to the Infinity 21 (#24ANB124). Are they basically the same, but one has a higher SEER? I would probably go with the Infinity 17 if that was the only difference.

Thank you all so much for the really excellent advice. Each of these comments is extremely helpful to me. I can't tell you how much better of a mindset I have about the whole thing. A combination of people understanding how it can become overwhelming - if you let it - but also learning how to set some logical criteria for making a decision (such as features, price, warranties, using psychology & a pinch of salt with reviews, strongly considering the customer service of the company, deciding what your priorities are and keeping your sanity are some ) has helped me a LOT to get a grip on this endeavor. :D Finally to understand that nothing's perfect but narrowing the margins can give you a pretty good shot at succeeding. If you've found some place with pretty good customer service you've got that as a fall back. Getting that this is NOT an investment but an expense also changes my point of view and understanding about it. (Ugh, marketing ploys. It's always like they are doing you a favor and not just trying to get your money). There's a lot more that you've explained here but I just really wanted to thank you and say it's made a massive difference to my whole outlook and feelings about it. I was able to make a decision this morning that I feel good about and feel a bit like having a glass of wine and some cheesecake - that's how relaxed I feel about it! c: Quite a difference from the semi-hysterical exhausted fearful creature I was, haha. The most valuable prep space is between the sink and range, and you should have a minimum of 36", but--42-48" would be better. I agree with anniebird, about the sink on the island, and if you have only one sink, then put the DW to the right (as you face the island), so that it is not between the fridge and range. In that layout a helper can load or unload the DW, or gather dishes to set the table, without interfering in prep and cooking tasks. If you really don't want a sink on the island, you might consider making the island 8' (which will still accommodate 4 seats), and putting the clean-up sink on the left wall. You might need to move the door down, but when you build the DR addition, you could make the window a pass-through, and dishes would be convenient to the new DR, in drawers on the end of the island, and in the corner susan or in drawers next to it. The clean-up sink as drawn could then be a prep sink, centered on the right window section, to give you more prep space between it and the range. A trash pull-out under the prep space would be convenient, and the clean-up sink could have a smaller trash pull-out below. Click to enlarge: Good kitchen planning info: New to Kitchens? The great thing about dishwashers is that they're pretty standard sizes. If you leave a tiny bit of wiggle room you should be able to swap out the DW if it's a real lemon. I did that.

Your choices are all great. Keep in mind 2 issues. Samsung although attractive has a very short servicer list so be prepared if an issue arises to wait a long time for service or parts. I realize consumer reports rate them highly but they never look at the servicing side of products. The electrolux dishwasher appears nice but has some really bad reviews.
The rest of the choices are great and the induction is a great cooktop you will enjoy cooking on it. Check out the Kitchen Aid model below..
