I assume that this problem was resolved since this is an old posting. However for those like myself who also had the same trouble and hated Bosch; I found a solution. The spray arms are poorly designed and the tiny holes clog over time. Unscrew the "nut" attaching each of the spray arms and use an ice pick or something small to unclog the holes along the arms. You will have to tilt the arm back and forth and shake out all the particles through the center connection hole in order to clean it out. Run water through it to be sure it is clear and shake it until there is no sound and the holes are clear. Re-attach to the machine and you will have sparkling dishes again. I cursed the darned dishwasher for weeks until I learned this!

This is great feedback. Thanks everyone. Looks like I should be able to get two Miele's for around $2K. I don't need a lot of bells and whistles, especially with such a high quality machine - I assume they are excellent in cleaning, which is the main job we all need a DW to do. I do need panel-ready DWs. Does anyone know if the Classics are available in panel-ready?

"Our local store rec'd the Electrolux Q50 series. Though reviewed.com loves this machine I'm having a difficult time finding owner feedback. I was told this was Italian time-tested technology, just now brought to the US. And the orbit clean has just come out of patent, but is also not "new". Any leads on further information?" The Frigidaire FPID/FGID and Electrolux EI24ID/EW24ID (including the 50QS) are brand new and seem to be a redesign from the ground up. Electrolux did not have a great reputation for dishwashers in the past; owners complained of poor washability and reliability. However, it's very possible this new line is great and exactly what they needed. You certainly won't find any user reviews at this point, though. If you buy one, let us know what you think! The only real "proven" dishwashers on the market right now are Maytag and the Euro manufacturers Bosch, Miele, and Asko. Although Maytag is a Whirlpool brand, they still use the previous generation Point Voyager tall tub wash system that works well. Whirlpool has transitioned the rest of their brands including KA to the "Global Wash System" which supposedly is quieter and uses less water but is unproven. GE and Electrolux/Frigidaire just introduced complete redesigns, presumably because their previous offerings weren't so great. Those are also unproven.

Sorry to hear that you have had such a rough time. It really stinks to be without a dishwasher and is unacceptable how long it is taking for them to put a working appliance in your house. Out of curiosity though, you said Bosch determined that the unit should be replaced, and the problem seems to be at the Lowe's level. Since it sounds like Bosch is already aware of the issue with the machine, have you tried contacting them directly? Maybe they could put a little pressure on Lowe's? I don't know that it would help, but at this point, it probably wouldn't hurt. IMO, not only does Lowe's need to do something to take care of the problem, but Bosch as well since you obviously got a crummy machine- you are a customer of both parties, and they need to remember that. I've had my Bosch for 9 or so years and am still very fond of it. Hope you get it taken care of soon :^(
