Hi - on an iMac here - I just click & drag a photo to my desktop - either from the web or iPhoto or any other folder on my computer, then click the photo link in the comments box & browse the desktop, select the file & click 'open' - & done. (just remember that photo will be inserted where the cursor was last - you can remove a misplaced photo by clicking @ the right side of it & using the delete button on your keyboard) When I'm finished, I put the desktop image in the trash or return it to its folder. BTW, you cannot click/drag photos from the messages here @ houzz( & on some other sites as well) - I use screen capture if I want to save & reuse any of them. If you want the steps for that, just ask... HTH

I'm not sure what programs are available for a MAC Book, but I do know ages ago when home computer were starting to pick up that MACs were the thing to get if you were into graphics/art, so hopefully someone will reply that knows more than I do. My daughter only has MACs, but that's one thing she and I are very different on. I don't think she's drawn (in any form) anything since she was a child unless she had to for school.

I think that the need to drain down to zero has been obviated by new battery technology. And, in fact, it is preferable not to fully discharge your batteries. to wit: Similar to a mechanical device that wears out faster with heavy use, so also does the depth of discharge (DoD) determine the cycle count. The shorter the discharge (low DoD), the longer the battery will last. If at all possible, avoid full discharges and charge the battery more often between uses. Partial discharge on Li-ion is fine. There is no memory and the battery does not need periodic full discharge cycles to prolong life. Do note this last bit below, which may confuse the issue. Perform Shallow Discharges; Avoid Frequent Full Discharges Old NiMH and NiCd batteries had a “memory effect” and had to be completely discharged from 100% to 0% to keep their capacity. Modern devices use Lithium Ion batteries, which work differently and have no memory effect. In fact, completely discharging a Li-ion battery is bad for it. You should try to perform shallow discharges — discharge the battery to something like 40-70% before recharging it, for example. Try to never let your battery go below 20% except in rare circumstances. If you were to discharge your battery to 50%, recharge it, and then discharge it to 50% again, that would count as a single “cycle” with modern Li-ion batteries. You don’t need to worry about performing shallow charges. There’s only one problem that shallow discharges can cause. Laptops can get a bit confused by shallow discharges and may show you wrong estimates for how long your device’s battery will last. Laptop manufacturers recommend you perform a full discharge about once per month to help calibrate the device’s battery time estimate.

Probably. This is actually a pretty common failure mode for a battery. Computers and other devices that indicate a battery percentage calculate that percentage by comparing the battery's voltage to a table of standard voltage values correlating to different levels of charge for that particular battery. When your battery is showing 90 percent it's being charged because the computer is plugged in, and the computer is being powered by line current from the electrical outlet. As soon as you pull the plug this puts the battery under load, and its voltage drops very quickly, most likely due to high internal resistance in the battery. Your computer was fooled into thinking that the battery was 90 percent charged because the voltage attained a value that in a good battery would indicate 90 percent charge, but in this battery it doesn't. Notebook computer batteries can fail fairly quickly if they're left charging constantly, as many are. Newer computers may have better charging control circuits to somewhat lessen the effects of this, but a good battery-saving practice is still to unplug a notebook computer when you're not using it rather than leaving it plugged in 24/7. (This is because, even with charging control circuits, the computer will keep the battery topped back up to 100 percent every time it drops a percent or two, creating repeated charge/discharge cycles that shorten a battery's life.) For a rarely used device, recharge the battery often enough to prevent it from sitting in a deeply-discharged state. Leaving a battery sit "dead" a long time can also damage it.
