computer comes on sometimes

I'm not sure if this is the right place to seek help for this problem, but when someone walks heavy across my (wooden) floor, it sometimes causes my computer to come on even when itis in standby mode. Is there something I can put under the bottom of my computer desk to stop this?

put scotch tape on your mouse
sounds like its bouncing and that mouse moving tells the computer to wake up

Mikie, I'm sure it's not the mouse. My mouse is heavy weight (logitech with red ball).I'm thinking it's the cpu that shakes when someone walks hard on the floor. Think bricks will help?

I still think it is the mouse.
Unplug the mouse, then shake the tower or case all you want.
The monitor won't come on, it takes movement of the ball on the mouse.
