I see the problem you are having quite a bit on some of the other forums here.

What browser are you using? When folks just cannot get it themselves, they give me the info, and I am always able to get it changed with no problem whatsoever. I use Firefox, and am unsure what they were using. I do think that it does have you log in twice maybe...and then one also has to put the password in twice, or it will give a red alert message and won't go to the next page.

If you would like for me to try it, just drop me an email. I will need your password, and once it is complete, you can then change it...if you want to. I feel certain I can get it changed with no problem.

I'll be in and out this afternoon.

Mikie//tried the url you gave me and it got me to where I can make changes in my profile. I changed the address(again), but it stil shows up on "my Page" with old addy.
Geez....people at GW, I'm 82 yrs old, I haven't got time for any more screwups, now please, change the damn addy! Pat aka Frustrated & Cranky!

Sometimes you might need to clear your temporary internet files for things like that to show up.... I see your addy as ....4@phango.com

Also sometimes servers won't instantly update webpages like whre your addy shows and might run the database or server programs every so often on a schedule update the new addy.

Might it really be changed?...like if you refreshed your browser, you might see the new one is there?

I have tried to change mine and it still shows up rather like calpat in the OP and described in the 1339hrs posting.

How does one clear temporary internet files?

What else gets cleared if one needs to do that to change an address here?

in Internet Explorer to clear the temporary internet files click on tools> internet options> then where you see temporary internet files you can choose to delete them now just do that and apply ok. It does not get rid of anything else just the stored stuff that can be deleted with no harm you will not miss it.
In firefox click tools> options or preferences > on the privacy tab, private data you can select settings to choose just what you want it to delete when you choose to clear it.

I only know how to clear it via Firefox as that is all I use.

With Firefox, it is click on tools at the top and choose Clear Private Data. Then one can choose what all they want to clear.

With internet explorer its tools > internet options > general > browsing history. Click on the delete tab and you have a choice of what to delete. Tools, by the way, is the gear shaped icon. On mine it's at the right side of the lowest tool bar.

BTW...I replied to your email and 'just' now got a failure notice. It was to the "@phango.com" that you had emailed me from. It said there was no mailbox by that name...well how then were you able to email me from that addy...strange...

Just came from members page, typed in the new e-mail address! Notation above the entry says"e-mail address already exists".

Ok Calpat, I have seen that happen b4. What had happened was a member had problems, so they changed their name, and of course had to have an email address to get registered. Then they forgot they ever signed up...or that they had signed up and had used that email addy.

What was done, was they contacted GW...via the Contact Us link at the bottom of the page.
They explained that they were trying to change their email addy but were getting an error message that that particular email addy was already in use.
Once GW knows the details, they can and likely will be able to help you.
Then GW was able to help out in maybe providing the member name that the email addy in question was tied to.
Then the member remembered signing up under that name. Then the member gave the 2nd member name (the one that had been forgotten about) a new junk email addy. That then freed up the good addy, so it could be put with the 'good' member name.

Email me if you'd like for me to try and help. I'm certain it can indeed be fixed. I've assisted 1 other member with this exact same set of circumstances.
