I can only imagine how much you miss and love her. I wish you peace on this anniversary. And I hope you still hear her in your mind and heart, sounds like she'll always be a part of you.

Hugs to you Pepi. This last year's new year eve was 5 years for me. I still miss my mother and I still talk to her also. I tell her about the grandchild she never saw and I tell her how much I miss her.

Hugs from me too... I lost my dad 17 years ago this year, and I still dream of him, miss him and talk to him.

It was two years ago when my friend David lost his DM. They were very close. I was glad to hear him say that after two years he feels the grief is much better and all the good memories are what he thinks more about now. In his words, "time to get on with my life".

Hugs to you!!!!! It'll be 9 years April 13th for Mom and it feels like yesterday but yet it feels like I never seen her...weird! dad will be gone 7 months on the 19th this has been a complete blurr..fastest 7 months Ive ever lived.

Peppi, I am terrible at calendar dates but I have been thinking about your mom the last couple of days--maybe I have an internal calendar. I hope fond memories overcome the long and tough time you and your dad had leading to the day she went home.

Oh Peppi! You know what a fine mother you had. I know you and Auggie miss her. I do too. She always knew what was for dinner because you were a great daughter to her. Like Annie said, we are all in this together.

It's been 2 1/2 years since my mom passed and next month will be 1 year since my sister passed. You were there for me both times. Thank You!

Peppi, I didn't know you back then, but I can tell from your post and the replies that your mom has left you with some wonderful memories!

Both of my parents are gone now and it helps to tell myself that I was blessed with them for so many years and their great love.... unfortunately there are SO many people nowadays with "bad" parents ... we were lucky!!

Still we miss them dearly don't we?

Oh, Peppi, I know how much you miss your mom. My momma passed 3 years ago Jan.30 and her funeral was Feb.2, so I always associate groundhog day with her passing. I think she would laugh about that! The worst time for me is in the early morning dawn when I wake, I still can't believe she is gone. I let my mind wander to my childhood and happy times and it helps a bit. It does get a little easier with time, but nothing will ever take away the sting of losing our parents, particular our mom's who carried us for 9 months to deliver us into this world full of love, joy, pain and hurt. Some day we will know the reason for all this. Bless you and take care.

Peppi, this is such a tough time for you & your Dad. That first years goes by in a fog, one day tears, the next trying to be strong, then back to tears. Believe me, I understand & offer my empathy. My Mom's been gone for 39 years come September, an enternity. Dad left in '94 & my oldest sister in '04. We've lost both of DH's parents in the past 5 years. People here were so kind through that tough couple weeks, the trip to CO, hospice...yep, it's tough.

Mom and I met Sherry and Linda (Doucanoe) here about a year or two before. My first CF get together. It led to so many good freinds.

I'll never forget the evening we all spent together. What a wonderful memory for me and all that attended that evening.

I remember the pork loin that you cooked on the BB-Q pit and especially the canned red cabbage. OMG! It was so good.

Your Mother was so gracious that evening...we really had a great time. I tell DH all the time how I wish he had been there with us. An unforgettable evening for sure.

I haven't had a lot of time to post, but I've thought of you, Peppi. It's been about 5 1/2 years since my Mom died, and I still want to call her up to tell her about things. It's hard, but I'm glad to hear you're at peace.
