Mom is watching the Oscars from...

Rehab!!!!!! We did it!! She is out of the hospital tonite at 5:30 and now she is watching the awards from her bed in rehab 3 miles from home!!! You guys are amazing. Your prayers and thoughts were answered thank you thank you thank you thank you. YAY MOM yay progress 38 days and love made it all happen!

I can't even thank you all enough! Yee hahhh! I love you guys! Thank you again! Mom knows you guys all had a hand in helping her out and she wants to bless you all. She thinks you all are angels and is sure something wonderful is in the future for all of you.

Thank you for your help the love will come back to you!

Debi....you'd be quite surprised if you had ever met the women on my mother's side of the family....including me. :-) Wrinkles just aren't in the DNA. I ain't complaining or anything, lol. I think that some women (and men) opt for surgery and other procedures because they're afraid to let nature take its course. Afraid of losing their careers, or the edge in business, or the admiration of the opposite sex. Afraid. And then so many end up looking horrible. But MANY truly benefit from procedures! I'm thinking of Judge Judy, Barbara Walters, Carol Burnett, and many others. Didn't Bette Midler look fabulous at the Oscars? She has been very open about her procedures. I've heard and read of problems that John Travolta had during his presentation...I must have missed it. Does anyone have an observation?

I watched the first hour and then taped the rest so that I could watch Downton Abbey, then I switched back to the Oscars. I think I'll just tape them every year - then I can fast forward through the commercials and boring parts. It's just way too long. Neal Patrick Harris was surprisingly disappointing. He does such an outstanding job when he emcees the Tony Awards. Last night he was uninspiring - flat jokes, silly one liners and how embarrassing that he couldn't manage to pronounce David Oyelowo's name correctly. Some other thoughts - Dakota Johnson was stunning in her red gown while Melanie Griffith looked like she was wearing a plastic mask. Julianne Moore was radiant, Kerry Washington wore a really elegant gown, Lady Gaga sang beautifully and I for once I wasn't completed distracted with her costume. Redmayne was adorable. John Travolta was creepy. I want to tape J.K. Simmon's acceptance speech - just the part about calling (not texting) your parents.

Picking a color from the stone is a common practice but I agree with emmarene9 that in this instance there is not enough contrast. I see some gray in the stone so an option would be to pick a darker warm gray to paint the siding. That would give you more contrast and would also work with your roof. If you're going to keep the railing then I would paint it the same color as the trim and the columns. Hey, we aren't done yet! We have to get Mmm on the cruise ship next. So when the PT torture crew comes in, tellMom to keep repeating...I know I can, Iknow I can.....

And man was she excited that she didn't miss the Oscars in transit, I guess your gown has a built in bum breezeway the Oscar gowns look even better!

I'm late to see this, but I'm thrilled that Mom has graduated to Rehab. This group does have a lot of good energy and is always so willing to use it.

Cathy- I do believe in the power of this group! Mom is a big believer in thank yous no matter the 'gift' no matter the source. She taught us that not only do "thank you's" show appreciation to the person who did something lovely for you but they renew the faith in the giver to continue to do good and right in the future which does well for us all.

She says she's working hard and looking forward to being healthier and moving ahead. Yeehah.
