I did the repair, it said it was completed successfully, but, sadly, it didn't change anything. You know, I'm wondering if it has to do with the way someone sends the original e-mail. Could it be that it's a setting on their end that I can't change on this end? Although, this was just a small photo that looked like it was a part of the little saying that came with it....not something that the sender would have inserted separately, if that makes sense. Again, the picture shows in the header and the body of the e-mail just has the empty box with the red X. I know the "slide show" has been an issue with WLM, but I was hoping maybe I could fix this now. Thank you for trying to help...and yes, I have Windows 7 and IE 9.

Just thought I'd add a couple of things after doing some research. It looks like if I want to be able to right click on a photo and use the "Send to e-mail recipient" option, I have to sign in to Windows Live Mail. Then, it takes away all my regular contacts and leaves me with only those for the Windows Hotmail account that I'm forced to sign into. If I sign out, I get them back, but cannot use the right click method to send photos. Am I just too stupid to figure out the simple solution to this or is Microsoft just forcing us into this position? Windows 7, IE 9

I have W 7 and WLM and I direct my server's email through WLM and I don't have any idea why yours does that, mine doesn't. I don't have an account with live, I don't like to join everything, especially social medias. You might try opening your email and the contacts listed there and try to add a contact and see if the same thing happens to it.

I did get my gmail account to work in WLM, but not the way I had hoped. What I finally did was activate the 2 step verification, and chose my Windows computer as the "app" to be used. Gmail send me a verification code, and then a 16 digit password, with a space after each 4 digits, to use when asked by WLM for my password. After entering the 16 digit password, all my mail for the past six days downloaded in WLM. Instructions were that I would never need to enter this password again, but I did write it down in my little password book, just in case. What I find puzzling is that I have used WLM 12 for almost three years with the same three gmail accounts, all of which worked in the mail program. It was only on Sept. 27 that my default account stopped working and asked repeatedly for my password. At that point I had NOT done the 2 step verification, so this is very infuriating, Google! I was forced into the 2 step verification process to get gmail to recognize my computer as an approved "app".
