Computer won't boot

Dell Dimension4600

XP SP1

I just installed an IOGEAR Bluetooth to USB Adapter and was able to connect to my cell phone and transfer some files yesterday. However, this morning I could not get the files to transfer. I attempted to reboot my computer and it would not reboot.(all I got was a blinking cursor in upper left corner of screen) After the 3rd attempts, I received the following error message:

Previous attempst at booting this system have failed at checkpoint [USBd) for help in resolving this problem, please note this checkpoint and contact Dell Technical Support.

Hoping to solve this without calling Dell...(shudder)...But I have my doubts.....
