Simple Bobby! Start training. Today: 2 large pepperoni and mushroom pizza's (extra cheese). Ice cream w/hot fudge for dessert. Late night snack: Cheese, crackers, ring bologna and a couple of dark ales. Tomorrow and monday: Repeat but add sausage to the pizza, whipped cream to the ice cream sundae and drink 3-4 beers as appropriate.

:-)

Glad to help!

That all sounds good except the mushrooms and beer! Thanks ever so much for that great advice ;-P

No problem, sir. Glad to be of help. Replace the mushrooms with ham and the beer with wine or your choice of high-calorie beverages. I do what I can to help, and no payment required!

Bobby, you can low-carb it for a few days. No breads, potato, pasta or rice, no sweets, no fruit juice, no soda if you can.

My DH did the Atkins diet and lost 30 lbs. Now he eats carbs in the form of veggies and fruits but still stays away from the stuff I mentioned most of the time.

That way you can eat all the meat you want at the restaurant - just beware, you might need a laxative for a few days!

I'd eat the meat..and some greens...salad or steamed green veggies...

For breakfast..I'd have an egg and a piece of toast or a yogurt with a bit or granola or fruit.

Thanks... we decided to go yesterday instead because it just worked out better. For breakfast, I had half a rice cake and a cup of yogurt. I was pretty hungry when I arrived, so that worked well, though it would have been better had I "trained" for days. I did have a few things from the salad bar... I promised myself that I wasn't going to because I wanted save room for the real food, but the salad bar was so pretty! They had parmesan flakes, mozzarella balls, fried provolone, and very pretty goat cheese (that I sampled and tolerated for the first time). The lobster bisque was pretty good too... and I was glad to have tasted it so I know what it should taste like because I've been looking for recipes at a couple weeks now to make some of my own.

The meat was good and was salted to perfection (probably too salty for many, but I loved it and didn't have to add anything), and we shared piece of chocolate mouse cake for dessert. The best part was when I was telling a story to Sheila and one of the servers came to offer us some pork loin. I had already gotten some pork loin and wasn't crazy about it. Right before the server interrupted us, I was telling a story about the lady I got my sewing machine from... it went like this:

Bobby: Before I drove all the way to her house for that machine, I wanted to make sure it was in good condition. So, I said...

Server interrupts: Pork Loin?

Bobby: No, thanks. (back to story) So, I said I don't want anymore of THAT.

Of course I meant to say what I told the lady about the sewing machine, but instead I said what I thinking to the server... some wires got crossed somewhere... we laughed for 5 minutes. I was embarrassed when the manager came to see if we were OK.

Though we had a question about etiquette... and I wanted to get your opinion. When I was in home ec class, I learned that it is proper to serve things on a plate with a fork, and things in a bowl with a spoon. When they brought out the cake, they gave us spoons. Sheila actually wanted a for for it since it was cake (not ice cream or soup!). They brought a fork over and placed it right on the linen tablecloth where all the grease from the meats having been sliced was! I almost fainted. Anyway... is the bowl spoon, plate fork rule still in place, or was my home ec teacher just old fashioned?
