Perhaps right click an Internet Explorer icon and try the 'Start without add-ons. To see if its one of those causing it.

You might try downloading and running Firefox and see if you have problems. If the results are the same, you can always remove Firefox.

Yes, Mikie, I do have Vista. Sorry for the omission and, no, I haven't installed IE8. I will try your suggestion.

I was also using IE for many years, but now switched to Mozilla Firefox and it is pretty good and downloading is also very simple and it is free. Why do not you try FF????

nonnie_ga even if you do get your IE work properly it is a very good idea to get firefox as a second browser because if you do not have an alternative browser on the pc and IE fails then you have no way to get on the internet so to have at the least 2 browsers is preferred and you can have more than that, you could try Opera and the Google Chrome browser also but firefox is very easy to download set up and use, you can have it install all your IE favorites at the time you install it then you have them on both. You do not have to choose to set it as default you can leave your IE as default, simply click on the firefox icon when you need to use it. You can actually have both IE and firefox running at the same time also.

I agree with the others about Firefox. I am a long-time and faithful IE user, but with IE the Garden Web forums just take forever to load. Firefox is a faster browser by far!

Thank you all for your help. I have been trying for three days to download Firefox and cannot get it to download. IE works for me only late at night. It's working today for some reason. I'm going to Firefox and see if I can get it to load. Again, thanks.

be sure you are trying to get the windows version, it will say in small print below the download button for other operating systems, just check to see that the version you are trying is the Windows version. I have the linux version and when I go to the download page it recognizes that and automatically gives me the link for linux so when I post it here it may be posting the linux version link, however it should detect your system when you go there.

I have down loaded Firefox and it works great for me. I can only use IE during the nights hours as it seems to not be as busy where I live at night.

I'm getting use to Firefox and so far my questions have been answered simply by going to Help.
