Hi Zep, I went ahead and upgraded to mp10 for my system. It seems nice so I'll go with it thanks. Unfortunately I still can't get the songs onto my pos mp3 player, there must be something wrong with it is all I can figure. I am able to rip songs from my cd's fine but the whole transfering them thing just isn't working. I am going to try the mp3 player in another computer at work tomorrow and I'll go from there. Remember we've had this thing for a few years just sitting in a closet with how to speak german on it so its no big loss. I'll go get another simple yet fairly inexpensive model at w-mart to learn on. I'm not giving up on this because I'm tired of listening to the boring elevator music the local station plays here in the middle of nowhere. Thanks, Neal

DAMcCoy asked why do I ask. I'm tired of Adobe's usually bloated software. Today, we don't have to depend on Adobe for creating PDFs. etc. So I thought let me check before I proceed with Flash Player to see if there was a good replacement. To up-date my situation, after getting the first couple of responses, I proceeded to re-install Flash Player after the initial responses. I'm running an old 900 MH machine with Win 2K and 256 MB of RAM. Is that not enough for Flash Player 10? Because when I attempt to play a video requiring Flash Player, I get into a round robin about what FireFox should do with the file. Save it or download it? When I download and attempt to open it, I get the same box back, "What do you want to do with this file?" In other words, I cannot get it to play one. Any suggestions? Thanks, Tom

you need to choose the IE flash player to download with IE and you need to choose the firefox version and download it with firefox if you use those browsers, You must get the proper version and use that browser to download and install. when you go to that link Zep provided called reinstall flash you will see which browser it is for if it is not the rigth one then you see that link that says Different operating system or browser? click that and it will offer you the links to the other options you could run the Secunia OSI and it will tell you what needs updating nad also provide the link directly to it. for any of these make sure any extras are unchecked including on the download page any thing McAfee or Norton related. Hi, Owbist. I don't think dust bunnies have been cleaned out for a year (and maybe not even then). My computer repair guy added 512 mb ram then (it had been only 256) - and I think he would have cleaned out the dust bunnies, but I'm not certain. So I can try that. I think he put in the maximum memory my desktop could hold. I have no idea what firewall I'm using or how to even tell. I know her computer is conected to my linksys router (her connection is wired). I had some vague notion that it included a firewall that served both our computers. But, honestly, "firewall" is one of those terms that scares me bc. I know I should know more about it and make sure I have adequate protection, but I'm not (kind of like some people think of retirement funds- you know it's important but may stick your head in the sand). Last night after I wrote the above post, I did download, update and run superantispyware - which found 167 items, which I then removed. I haven't gotten on to her computer since. (Well, I tried and wanted to remove old, unnecessary software - for a printer we no longer have - but it kind of stopped and froze midstream.) I confess that I do disk cleanup and defrag on my computer, but have forgotten to do hers since I passed it down to her in January. I will do that now.
