Photo sizing any free software links

I am looking for something that I can make photo's smaller to print out on fabric and photo paper anyone have a link to any free software. I need it for a quilt project!

PhotoFiltre is a small program that is quite nice and easy to use. Free!

While I have only played with its demo... Adobe now has PhotoShop Express online that should do that. Free!

You can also try right clicking on the picture you want and select PRINT.

Follow the wizard and select the size you want. You can print many different sizes - 5x7 4x6 3x5 etc. You can choose more than one picture to print at a time - so you could have 3 4x6 on one page.

I don't know if this will work for you, but you already have this option on your computer without any additional software.

It is interesting Pooh. Based on your post I downloaded and ran the program. At the moment this is still a BETA program, in other words it is being tested by those of us who elect to use it. Once all the kinks are worked out the final product will be available no doubt. On my computer it searched all 3 hard drive partitions and found 10 insecure programs and 4 end of life. However those tagged as end of life will not be removed, these are old programs I use and will continue to take the small risk they might pose. The live link to the right of each entry takes you to the needed update site for that particular program. It is one more program running in the background. Time wil tell if it stays on my computer but it is an interesting program

I have no problem with the software, have actually found one, free but limited, only 36 pics. allowed, and it re-codes,formats,etc, and plays in our 2 DVD players, however would like one that allows more pics. and also don't know how long, I can use this one before they bug me to pay for full version.. so figured someone here knew of a total free one? this one also erases or formats and writes over a DVD-RW, has very kewl transitions too, seems ashame to burn 15 mins. on a 2 hr. DVD..wish they made shorter length DVD's??

You guys are the greatest. What a wonderful, helpful community (and frankly, just what I needed after a very tough week of people being difficult, unhelpful and irresponsible). Thanks. I love the tutorials for Audacity - and will probably want to play around with that some. But before I got those responses, I did some more searching and found a very simple program called MP3 Key Changer. It allows you to save up to 3 versions for free - so that will suffice for my daughter's purposes of creating one higher pitched and one lower pitched version. The free version may also save only a portion of the song - but my daughter only needs a few bars, not the whole song. The full software costs $45. So if we want further transposing, I think we'll learn Audacity. And I can imagine her learning audacity to change the background tracks so she can sing any song she wants in her own key. Bob - your links were great places to start learning Audacity. I learned the basics of Irfanview in 2 hrs. - cropping, resizing, color adj. You can embed a title in a pic., change a .gif or .png to .jpg, change an image to grey tones, set up a slide show, blur/sharpen, and much more. And it's fast. If I have to clone I reluctantly use Photoshop Elements. When I compared the results of a photo sharpened with Elements with one by Irfanview, I preferred the Irfan. Photofiltre is also freeware. those are two sites I use often to do a quick resize of pictures on my pc.

But there is a super free little windows power toy you can go get from the microsoft power toys site called
Image Resizer

This PowerToy enables you to resize one or many image files with a right-click
It is wonderful! you just right click on the picture and select resize and you get a box you can pick sizes from or set up a custom size. Here is the link to the power toys page just look for the Image Resizer download on the right.

That Power Toy is great, but I don't think that is what the OP is after.

RedPenny is trying to make the actual image a certain size to print onto special paper that can be put on fabric or printing onto the actaul fabric itself.

The PowerToy will reduce the size of the file -but not to actually make it a certain dimension.
