right place?

If I'm in the wrong place for this question don't hesitate to steer me in the right direction.

I bought an HP fax machine, not knowing one thing about them so haven't tried it out yet. I need the most help with the phone part of it. When I receive a fax do I have to disconnect the phone that has an answering machine? Someone told me the answering machine will interfere with the fax machine. There is nothing in the instruction book that addresses this. Also, is there a way to tell the difference in the fax ring and regular phone ring? I just know there's going to be a ton of questions before I get this down pat but this will get me started, I think. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me. BT

Could you provide the model # of your machine.

Or you could Google, the model# of the Fax HPXXXX and the word answering machine for starters.

Great deal! What a wonderful way to volunteer in your community. Towards the end of summer our WM was clearing roses out at 75% because they didn't want to inventory them so I bought 3 gallon cl. America and a 3 gallon rose labeled as a Crimson Sky for 4 $ and something each. I also bought 3 Double Knock Outs, one red and two pink, for $2.50 each. The 'America' was pretty defoiliated but she bounced right back after I planted her and She has her first blooms right now. The rose labeled as 'Crimson Rose' put out blooms that were single but has added petals every time it blooms but I am withholding judgement until next spring as to it's identity.

Is the female feral or tame? If she's feral and the wood stack is stable I would probably leave the kitten(s) for now and carefully place a tarp on top. If you start moving things around she may panic and either abandon, or move, the kitten. If the mom is tame then you could try moving the logs but you'd have to be extremely careful. One shift of the logs and you could crush the kitten. Continue feeding the mom so she doesn't have to leave the kitten often. Check online to see if your county or state offers discount coupons for spay and neuter. You'll be limited to certain vets but the discount can't be passed up. Also, consider restacking the logs at some point. Up against the house is not a good location since it creates a breeding ground for insects and termites......and easy access to your home.

to have a different ring you have to get that from the phone company, I have what is called distinctive ring it has a different number but it is NOT a separate line, same line only one line but with a separate number which will cause the phone to ring a specific way, mine is 2 rings in a row ring ring and when my fax hears that ring it knows to pick that call up, my regular phone ring is not picked up by the fax. There are settings in the fax itself to set for a distinctive ring situation. Mine is also an HP just go through the book it will tell you exactly what to do.
But if you leave it on your regular line plugged in then it will try to answer any call. You would need to check on your specific answer machine book for how your's works with a fax machine.
