Door style for a WRC shingled home...

Studying shingle style homes it appears the exterior detailing is subdued. In our case we are leaving the WRC shingles natural. We have a flare built-in to the exterior that is neccesitating custom threshholds to span the flare's added depth. The thresholds are being built with honduran mahogany and will be near 12 inches in depth. The returns from the exterior wall to door stop itself will be shingled as well, no trim work around doors or windows.

I believe a plain quality door would be appropiate. My local codes are making it difficult to use anything solid wood (STC regs), and so I am leaning toward a smooth fiberglass door possibly a Thermatru. The finish intent would be to paint it a color, not have it try to mimick a finished wood look. I would love to hear some opinions as no one in my neck of the woods builds shingled homes...Thanks for your input!
