Does anyone know where I can get this from????

I'm sure I didn't attach this correctly as I'm not very cut & paste literate & I don't know how to link stuff...... What I'm looking @ is the stained glass piece that's on the window over the Master Bathroom Tub. We have a very similar window over the tub that's larger, but you'll be able to see into the bathroom...... Was thinking of putting a plantation shutter over it, but I really like the look of this. It looks like it's just been hung up there 'tho. Does anyone have any ideas of where I could get this or something similar for that window?

If you just want a piece that is about the same size, they are very easy to find at a local stained glass place. Or search online. Just do a search in your area. I wanted one to fit perfectly in the lower portion of our oval window, so I had a local artist make one for me.

Ebay, or any of the online lighting retailers who sell a lot Tiffany style fixtures, like brightspot.com.

But we are coming up on the season when many communities have sidewalk art shows, and it would be much more rewarding [and probably no more expensive] to seek out a 'treasure' in that sort of environment.

Hello ant.You've got eyes for things beautiful!I like Rebutia heliosa very much myself but I find it not the easiest one to keep(amongst the Rebutias).In fact,IF you see it offered for sale it will probably be a grafted plant.If it's on a short graft,buy it,it will grow quite typically.On a too vigorous one it grows usually in an elongated way.Specialist nurseries do occasionally offer this species on it's own roots.I'm not familiar with US cactus nurseries (except Mesa Garden,Belen New Mexico).Or try the Cactus and Succulent Society of America.By the way,there are several 'varieties' of this species.The two best known are Rebutia heliosa v.cajasensis and v.condorensis.Here in Europe these are more common;they are also easier to keep and are also truly wonderful plants.Good hunting!Bye for now.

Just call some tree companies around you. Some of them will bring wood chips to your place and dump a whole truck load where you tell them. I don't think you want wood chips next to your house though, as they may attract termites. But I could be wrong as usual.

Yep, have now found the stuff from supermarkets- but is not cheap! I will just need to find a produce store nearby! Thanks for all the advice! Seems to be doing a reasonable job at preventing the catterpillars! Still need to be quite vigilant with the brocilli- ie. getting out there every morning and inspecting under each leaf, scraping off the eggs and small bugs! Love the smell of the molasses from the vegie patch, though!

aas178- As I understand it, you have a chrome-brass piece that looks like it goes through the escutcheon plate, but is so short that not enough thread sticks out the backside of the plate to provide a non-leaking connection at the wall. Here is what I don't understand: It sounds like the company provided you this threaded piece; but why would they send you something that clearly doesn't work with their escutcheon plate?

If you're still building you could use what I used. 4x4 window @ $740 plus shipping from www.texascustomdoors.com when I bought it last year. It is completely obscure but it lets in a ton of light. They have other choices including ones with colored glass.

Of course, if you're already past that point an entirely different window won't help you.

I've seen some beautiful antique pieces such as the one you showed for sale at our local antique and salvage stores. You could also go over to the stained glass forum and ask those folks to give you some website info. I'm sure they would know. Good luck!

Thanks all! Found a local company that I'll hopefully be able to get a quote from today, just a ball park figure. I'm sure it would be cheaper to just do the plantation shutter. They will come out to measure & then do the installation as well. We want it to actually look like part of the window & not just stuck or hung up there. The window is huge: 55.2" x 25.6" - not including the radius.

Wow. All of these pictures look like egregious code violations.

Under R308.4.5 of the IRC, any glass that forms part of an enclosing wall of a tub, shower or the like generally must be tempered unless it's higher than 60" above any standing or walking surface.

There's some difference of opinion as to what constitutes part of an enclosing wall, but these pics aren't in any kind of gray area.

Well I may have to eat my words - I clicked on the Glass Craft catalog and they say their products are tempered. Live and learn!
