I did not have that model Bosch and this one looks very similar to the Asko I have now. I had the highest model Bosch that I replaced last year. I had it for Five years. I had a lot of problems with the control panel breaking and the on/off button would break every year. After it did it again outside of warranty I just decided to replace it. My dish machine is in the main area where I work due to the shape of my kitchen. This was a problem for the Bosch as any citrus or acid that might come in touch with the plastic would discolor it.
One of the things I like about the Asko over the Bosch is that it completly integrates into the cabinets. Any counter spills can not get on the control panel. The Asko utilizes a fan for drying and actually cleans much better than the Bosch. No repairs so far. :)
About $200 more than Bosch and IIR they come with a better warranty.
BTW congrats on dealing with a reliable dealer who is going to wave that restocking fee. It sure makes things a lot more pleasant to deal with some one that actually wants your business.
The one negative thing about machines that completly integrate into the cabinet is that there are no digital displays and if there are they are not visible when the door closes. So you have to listen for the beep to know when the cycle is done or you can turn the "beep" off. You get used to it very fast. The Asko is just as quiet as the Bosch in my kitchen.

My KD has an Asko and really likes it, so I'm not knocking them. I looked at them but went with Thermador, which is a Bosch with a different name plate and probably one cycle or feature different that the comp Bosch model. And inthe panel ready model, it was running $100-150 less per DW when we bought it. Since we got 2, we went with Thermador.

I probably would have bought Bosch twice before if I hadn't been told by salesmen that the filter trap had to be cleaned every time you ran it. Baloney. I rinsed them a couple of times when I had something stuck in my disposal and was trying to figure out where the smell was coming from. I think I have emptied a chunck of something out of it once or twice in over a year of using each daily or every other day.

The Bosch are quiet and clean well. I ususally use the light cycle and have only used the normal cycle a few times. I'm not 100% sure if I have even used the heavy duty setting. I can tell you that a light cycle may not remove baked on egg, but that doesn't surprise me either.
I'm not sure anyone's would.

I have read complaints that they don't dry well, but mine dry as well as any other DW I have had. Some plastic pieces or pieces with a rim will need a wipe with a towel, although letting them sit until they have cooled does most of the job.

I've had no problems with the controls and dont see how you can stain the stainless tub. Haven't noticed any stains on any of the seals or plastic parts either, and our boys are heavy on ketchup and tomato based foods.

Oh, any of the upper model lines will have a light that shines on the floor until the cycle is completed. My firneds and family have asked about the little red light shining onthe floor -- even after they talked to me while I finished loading and starting the DW. They didn't realize it was running. :_)

The only thing I can tell you is that you might save a few dollars getting the Thermador if you are going to cover the front with a panel. Worth checking if you have that option.

Gonzoe - you need to make sure your design and installed cabinetry will allow for what you want to do. If the space front to back in the opening is less than the sum of the DW body, door panel, and mechanicals (if present) going in that space; no DW is going to give you the look you want. The euro DW's are shallower than the K.Aid ones so that gives many people the ability to accomplish flush. However if your cabinetry is an inset door 1" thick with a counter depth of 22 1/2" , then you are never going to find a DW to be flush with the front of cabinetery.

cdave- certainly you're not naive enough to think gonzoe's dealer isn't going to makeup the re-stock fee in the price of the new Bosch..........do you?

Thanks so much for all of your advice/opinions. I'm going to pass it along to our cabinet maker. Decided that it is not going to be the end of the world if my dishwasher sticks out a little, but I guess we will see once the Bosch is delivered.
