The other thing you might want to consider for your bathroom is some kind of tile. I write about kitchens and baths all the time, and one of the things that most interests me is the absolutely mind-blowing things that can be done with tile. Last month I posted what was probably the thirtieth or fortieth blog on this subject (thereÂs a link below). ThereÂs a company in Italy that makes tile that actually look a bit like lava flows from a volcano! But what blew my mind all the more was the elegance with which this concept was evoked. And the many things that can be done with it. Working in a space that small, you will, after youÂve installed the toilet and sink have a very small bathroom. But you knew that when you started. So, what happens next? If you simply install a "standard" toilet and vanity, you will be left with a nondescript room that is much too small. On the other hand you can use something like the Volcanic Designer Tiles I wrote aboutÂor, quite frankly, about a bazillion other tile designs that are available these daysÂto transform that dinky little room into something that is a real conversation piece. juliab51 thanks for your feedback on living with a 3x8 room painted dark. It's hard for me to visualize anything, so I'm worried it will feel too small. (I'll also have a pocket door). Your vanity looks great. I was trying to figure out how they fit that dresser in the room (I had assumed I'd need to order a custom cabinet.). It looks like maybe the dresser is 1-2" narrower and they trimmed it out so the trim looks like part of the furniture (and then painted it all the same color). If so, that's brilliant. Unfortunately, I don't have a dresser that size and I'd still be on the hook for a custom fabricated counter (my understanding is that fabrication alone is more than $1k--more than the price of the entire console sink with stand). But I love that look and would do it if I were married to a fabricator ;) HALLETT & Co. thanks for your feedback. I'd love to put a medicine cabinet in there (and love the look of yours) but I don't think I can do one recessed. (we haven't demo-ed yet, but it seems unlikely, based on where we think the studs are). So you installed all tile on that one wall only? Interesting. I like that you have a bunch of art on the walls. I'm considering put original paintings in there, maybe one over the toilet and one across from the doorway when you walk in. But you did a bunch of art. Inspiring!!! I thought of you today when I was on Esty and bathroom sink skirts popped up in a search for shower curtains. (Go figure?) Head over there and check them out. They have some that are straight panels and more modern looking, less gathered. I'm still not a fan of them. They seem a bit fussy, even the more contemporary ones, and make the room look smaller than having an open underside of the sink. If you are concerned about how the pipes look, I'd instead get a nice looking drain pipe set up. See some examples below. I would not be too concerned about storage. The room is so small that no matter where and how you stash the TP, nobody will have a hard time finding it.

I really like the console sinks. (And I hope all these pictures come throught!) if you can swing getting one of these (and they come in diff styles, sizes, gold/black/chrome/ or white or black marble) I'd get one. another console shot and Picture frame trim molding on the inside of board/batten wainscot. This was painted in a glossy finish. If you do black, so at least a semi-gloss i photoshopped your paper onto this taller wainscot done in a more refined beadboard finish. you'd ned the gold metal though. this chrome does nothing w/that wallpaper you've picked. Here's nother photoshop of that black marble/gold console from my previous comment. Another angle. Put in the paper above the black wainscot. They have a black/white marble mosaic floor. I'd prob do the black marble basketweave flooring w/this combo. I have it in my bathroom with a gold schluter metal edge (to seperate it from the other flooring). here's a close up of it wouldn't this black marble look killer w/the black wainscot?? I did another one, below: I did photoshop your paper onto this picture w/the black tile wainscot. I really like this. (what is your flooring going to be? Pick that first) What do you think of this one? I'd still like it better w/the console sink, and I think I like the gold better, but this is very pretty. If you wanted the white wainscot, here a shot w/similar type of paper above it, white marble basketweave floor tile and the gold mirror/sconces. I don't like this vanity. This wainscot is a board and batten, a double pattern. this one would be eaiser to do. Just a simple rail and stile layout w/a piece of chair rail molding on top. (to figure this out it's basic math to determine the spacing and size of your molding. plenty of how to's and tutorials online) I found a lighter green color w/a console sink so I shopped in your paper, mirror/sconces. This is a bit more vintage/traditional. but I wanted you to see it w/the lighter green color. So here are some colors you can look at. you mentioned it was teal or green base, so either go w/those colors or find a black with the green or blue undertones. for example, this DE color Midnight Spruce is actually a black, but w/a deep green undertone Looks great w/the paper and the gold and marble sink. I gave some other dark teal/green undertones in the corner if you want something lighter: Raccoon Fur and Cheating Heart are both BM blue/blacks. The 4 colors at the bottom are either the green or the blue/teal tones. You could actually paint the ceiling w/any of these colors, even if you decide on a black wainscot. The blue or green ceiling paired w/a cool gold light would look very nice what about this look? I love the thick black baseboard. So you could do the entire thing in your paper, or just do the one wall in the paper, or do the whole room in the black wainscot w/the paper above. But I prefer this type of sink and the marble mosaic floor. (this one, or some of the others)
