I imported my post from another thread. FF12 beta 1 was released around March 16, 2012, followed by five more betas. The most recent beta 6 around April 18, 2012. A supposed final was released around April 22, 2012. I have read that there is some user confusion as to it being an actual final version, or just a RC (release candidate). I have also read some reported concerns regarding stability of this final/RC version. I myself am waiting for a clarification and a popular position on the release. As always, with any application a user must use caution when exploring betas and RCs. DA

If you prefer IE then use it, Microsoft issued the update to fix it a couple of days ago so make sure you have that update on your computer and go back to IE. The latest version of Firefox has major changes which could be some of the problem. When I run into the login problem here at gw I clear the cache on the browser, then do the login on the actual main page of gw not one of the forums, it does seem to make a difference. To get to the main page go to the top of the KT to the top left corner where the green house is click there use the login on the page it opens to. There's a thread here about the update with information and the link. Check your Windows updates to make sure that you got it.

Is the profile you found in the correct place ? If so, just use the Profile Manager as I suggested above - that's what it's for. You can copy and paste files in, and it might work, but historically that has led to some problems in Firefox. I have done it though. If you use the Profile Manager, you can be sure Firefox "knows" about a different profile. Are you having trouble with that ? (Btw, even if the profile is in an atypical place it will still be loaded by FF and run fine. I actually put my profiles in a different place that I like to keep them.) I don't quite understand your reply to me, "I took it to finding Firefox profiles if it can't be accessed through Firefox." If this clarifies any, you can't run the Profile Manager while Firefox is running. You have to close FF, start the Profile Manager as is explained in the either of the articles, then choose a different profile as the default. It's pretty easy actually. To start the Profile Manager, in the Start>>Run dialog box, type in: firefox.exe -p

RitaWeeda, You can set Firefox not to automatically install updates. Current versions ... Options \ General, scroll down to Firefox Updates section and select "Check for updates but let you choose to install them" It may be under a different menu structure if you're on an older version. It may still advise that an update is available but won't automatically install it. You can check manually check for updates by clicking on Help / About Firefox. It will check from there if any updates are available, advise you accordingly, and offer to fetch and install. I've been using Firefox since the 0.xx versions.
