Dumb question

What kind of mouse mats do you prefer?? I a having a problem with my mouse skipping (doent want to go where I aim it) and I end up using a piece of ugly cardboard,as thats all I can find that wont make it skip.It happens with my cordless and corded both...any hints???

Switch to an optical mouse.
Then use any mat or no mat at all.

Is an optical the same as a cordless,,,with the little light?? I use both and they both skip.

Put it ALL in. What came out of the eavestrough is as you think it is, decomposed leaves. Its a great addition to your compost pile. Peanut Butter. If you think peanut butter is not what should be put into a compost pile of rotting garbage, then throw it away. Better still though, give it to your neighbors who will throw it into their compost pile. Don't be led down the garden path by scary stories of putting stuff in a compost pile that will harm it. Meat, if its buried deep, fish carcases, if its buried deep, milk solids, if its buried deep will decompose down as much as anything else. It just depends on how much goes in there and if you bury it under a lot of grass clippings, other food waste, leaves and soil, you've done well by your pile. All this food, don't let it go to waste. It all has microbes -- and I haven't met a dangerous microbe yet I wouldn't let eat in my compost pile.

Ok, dumb question about blenders

I agree: probably from years of wear and tear. I will never own a blender with a plastic carafe. I don't know why, but every one I've ever owned is glass. I shouldn't say "every one" because in 40 years I've owned exactly 2 and that's because I broke the carafe on the first one when I dropped it.... ;) Yeah, plastic is better in those cases. But most brands do have replacement parts. Look your up and you'll probably find a new one.

Duvets are just covers, like a pillow case, for your comforter. You slip you comforter inside and it protects it from getting dirty and you having to wash it. Just like a pillow case. I've used duvets for many year, probably most of my adult life. It is common in Europe. It is a cover to protect your comforter. I throw mine in the washing machine when I wash my sheets. I run it through the dryer with the sheets. Yes, its a pain getting the comforter back into it, but you just get it in. We always used down comforters, and duvets prevent feathers from coming out, plus they keep the comforter clean. Its not any fun washing a down comforter. I always bring it in to have it washed in a dry cleaner. But I pay to have it washed, not dry cleaning chemicals. The idea is that the comforter needs to be protected so you don't have to wash it all the time. Good luck with your search! Jane

Dumb question about gift cards.

Oh sorry - I went off in a different direction. I'm not a big fan of gift cards in general, especially ones that tie you into one specific restaurant or store. I've had a few bad experiences where the cards went unused - in one instance the restaurant closed unexpectedly and I still have one for the Rittenhouse Spa that DH gave me the Christmas before Covid. I can still use it but just haven't felt inclined to book it. Now that the kids are older we've tried to simplify things. They own their own homes and two have children. They have repeatedly commented that they don't need stuff. I don't have a problem with giving them money and we give them checks on Christmas and their birthdays and it is definitely what they want and can use. A few years ago one of the kids set up Elfster- an online gift exchange that his wife uses with her large, extended family. It resembles a Pollyanna - you're matched up with one other family member, a price limit is set and each participant has to suggest things that they would like to receive and they can even include a link to the actual item. This is the third year and it's worked out well and is helpful in eliminating the 'stuff' factor.

Optical has a led light on the bottom and no balls.

I still like standard mouse pads even with an optical mouse. Heavy rubber backed kind that are like cloth on the working surface.

I use a solid black mousepad - seems to have better results when I am trying to do some "fine" work when I am editing pictures.

My mouse was acting really choppy for a while - I had been using a cordless optical mouse, but went back to a corded optical mouse.

Go to your CONTROL PANEL and check to see what your MOUSE is set to. Mine was set on the wrong type. When I selected BASIC OPTICAL MOUSE everything started working smoothly again.

You can also change some of the settings and speeds at this panel.

My man has Laser Mouse by Logitech,3 years now and he uses it on a rubber pad. No problems.

I use microsoft mouse with a wire ..No balls and just a red light under it .. No pad , just he hard board of the computer desk.. Neither one skip, or ever did.

Erratic movement usually has nothing to do with the mouse pad. If you have a mouse with a ball, have you ever cleaned it? If you turn this kind of mouse upside down, you will see a circular piece of plastic that surrounds the ball. If you apply a little pressure, you can rotate it a 1/4 turn or so and get it and the ball to drop out. Then look at the interior and clean all the lint and crap off the interior and the little rollers; then reassemble.
