the .pub file is a microsoft publisher file which you need ms publisher to open. Can you get whoever sent it to you to resend it in another format, maybe .pdf (adobe reader)?
The .eml file is an electronic mail file used by outlook express and other email programs. I've never received one but I would try opening the picture with the program you got it with and see if you can if you can click file > save as and save it as a .jpg file. This may be a waste of time.

If you want to upload a picture to photobucket, while at photobucket, click browse and browse to your my documents folder where the picture is stored.

If you want to save a picture that is in an email, right click the picture and save or save as to your my documents folder.

First you have to download the photo to your documents. That stores it in your computer. Then if it does not work, you have to check and see what the file extention is. Windows 98 is a problem. You need to update your computer to at least windows xp.

If you scanned the photos why are they emails? Emails are what someone sends to you. Maybe the size of the file is so big it will not be accepted?

I suggest asked the photography forum. Try a free program called infran view, and ask them about it. Reduce the file size to a small size ie 60k. When you scan a file, it is normally huge like thousands of k. Each website has a limit. When you upload you will see a message like this file is too big.

Or take them to a camera store, and have them reduce them and put them on a cd for you, and also they can help you do that kind of stuff.

I'll try to give you an answer to this problem. Go to "My Documents" where you have stored the email. Double click on one e-mail and open it.

Look along the top to see if there is a file attached to the e-mail (which would be the picture).......or maybe the person just inserted the picture in the e-mail and did not send the file.

If there is a file attached - while on the open e-mail..
click on File,
click Save Attachment
Choose a place to save it - desktop is pretty safe and easy to find
Click Save.

Now - go to your desktop, dbl. click on the file to open it - and make sure it opens - if so - you have now saved it to your hard drive.

If by some chance - the person simply inserted the picture in the email and did not include the file

Right click on the picture that is in the e-mail
Choose save as jpeg
Save it to your desktop again......and go there and try to open it.

Once you have the pictures saved to your hard drive - you can put them in "My Pictures Folder" and you can delete all the old emails.

I would do that first - then you can get help on uploading them to a site. They must all be saved on your computer hard drive first.

Thank you all for your assistance, thinking mayhap I can try any/all of these and see what happens. Most of the things sent to me are crochet patterns, and the pictures, and words are sometimes on the same page, am trying to enlarge the printing somewhat also, as it is blurry and hard to read, too small.
You all have been a great help, and the step-by-step instructions are wonderful news to me.

.eml is a new extension to me. So I checked IrfanView (the free photo 'editing' program. It did not list .eml as one of the compatible file extensions the program could open (and therefore be saved in a different format).

Here is a trick which may help, or not. When you have the page you want to save showing on your monitor, hit the Print Scrn key once. This key is at the right end of the top row of F-keys. Now, open whatever document program you use, click Edit on the menu bar and choose Paste. Your image will appear and is ready to be saved. You will be able to use the Zoom in the View menu for easier viewing. (I'm a crocheter too).

(the screen image that was saved when you tapped the Print Scrn key was saved in the "clipboard" --- a temporary memory area. Only one screen-copy may be saved at a time. As soon as Print Scrn is tapped again, the old image is replaced by the new image.)

If the above is the case, when you scan a photo, save it a format like jpeg, instead of eml. I think there is no such file extention as that. I thought you meant email.
