Did anyone else experience this?

I tried to get on this forum and couldn't, everything that I had concerning THS was blank and I couldn't access this forum at all. I tried again just now and everything is back but, it is moving slow for some reason. Going from the discussion part of the forum to the conversation side of this forum was very slow. I am sure they are working on this but wondered if anyone else had this happen to them?

Trying to post here is moving slow also.

I think they were having technical difficulties.

sometime earlier, gardenweb wasnt even here, Site not found. Then it appeared it was overun with connections when it came back online, slow and sluggish.

'Moraine' and 'Worplesdon' sweetgums weren't damaged here (N of Detroit), but 'Happidaze', 'Cherokee', and Chinese sweetgums ('Burgundy Flush' & 'Blush) all had bud/tip/twig damage (in some cases severe). We saw low temps in the -12F to -15F range, but above average snow cover through much of the cold weather probably helped protect some trees that would otherwise have been damaged. I didn't notice any significant damage this spring on southern tuliptrees, but a Chinese tuliptree planted last spring (fairly exposed location) was killed to the ground. My Poliothyrsis (planted 4 years ago) was also killed. 'Wildfire' blackgum had bud/tip dieback, while 'Forum' and 'Red Rage' did not.

I didn't solve the mystery but my plants have recovered anyway. I don't know what else it could have been besides maybe a little extra rain. Next year I'm going to look for a petunia that doesn't get so demolished by rain. I saw once called Rainmaster in the Select Seeds catalogue. And thanks, I did cut them all back this weekend.

I grew Reisentraub this year for the first time so I don't have a past experience to compare it to but it was advertised as a vigorous, heavy bearer and it was neither. But none of my tomatoes did very well this year. Last year I would've had a big harvest if it had not gotten so hot so soon. They were literally boiling under their skins. I'm not a big cherry tomato fan, I was expecting the Reisentraub to be bigger. I've grown black cherry, sweet 100, and Tess' Land Race. The latter were so small they just became too much trouble to pick and the birds and chickens got most of them. I didn't really intend to bother with cherry tomatoes again.

No White Azaleas This Past Season

My whites (unknown variety) didn't flower either but then there were almost no flowers on any azaleas in the border they're in. I lay it to the dry conditions last year during late summer when they were setting buds. I even lost a few old established plants that I thought were probably drought proof by now. The only ones that flowered well were in a bed I water with a soaker hose when it gets exceptionally dry and some Encores in a foundation bed against the east side of the house. Hopefully things will be better this year and they will put on a good show next spring. Sandy

Late last night...maybe 11:30 PM or so, I could not access any forum, and in light of what has been happening lately, figured it was down for some maintenance/updating or something and just hoped it would come back up....like my Hotmail did last week. I think GW was back up in about an hour or so.

It seems to be moving/loading fine this AM for me.

It was blank for me last night, but there was a URL and had mainten or something like that in it.

I had the same thing as stargazzer last night, so I figured there was some sort of technical problem.

yes me too but I have had trouble connecting via AOL for weeks sometimes a minute to load anything on GW I'm here via expl direct right now

They must have been having problems because everything seems to be working just fine now. Thanks for your posts, at least I know I wasn't the only one experiencing problems getting on here. "Smiles"
