Yesterday and Saturday I worked on the taping for my ceiling and corners. The big hole patch was incorporated into the corner taping. Here are some pictures after the tape and one coat of joint compound. That joint compound is easy and hard to work with at the same time. Easy to get into the pan and on the wall, but hard to get it smooth and even:) It's kind of fun and frustrating at the same time-like life ;) I used a tape that is meant for edges. It is a webbed product called Strait-Flex. It was the "medium" grade. It was expensive. It is thicker than paper and I think that is a problem for me. I thought it would make it easier being more ridged and straight. There were areas where the edge would want to bow out and not lay flat. That was a problem. When it dried I had to cut these 1" sections out, at the edges where it raised up from the surface. There were 2 or 3 of these. I tried some paper tape in an area and that was easier and smoother. I just added this detail for GW info. Maybe someone else has had better luck than I with this product. Here is a faraway shot. Old plaster ceiling and wall to the left with new drywall on the right wall. I only taped the drywall to the plaster. I did not add any tape to the patch along the plaster wall: And a closeup, again old plaster ceiling and wall to the left with new drywall on the right: Now I have to put a second coat on the area. These right angle areas are hard. from far away it looks even but closeup there are irregularities. This is the first time I've drywalled. Any tips for right angles?

I usually use the no right click script if I am gonna be uploading or posting pictures.., just a habit that I had gotten into.. It has worked on most sites that I have made, and I do use IE... I had the script inside the proper tags, just not sure why it wouldn't work on the trade page.., but I haven't been able to figure out how to get around the bullets list that is built into the script there either, so it isn't any big deal.., also, for what it is worth, the no right click script has nothing to do with saving a page to favorites or stopping/hindering someone from looking at a cached page.. it was created to stop the ability of right clicking on pictures and copying them to your system.. there is also a script that will stop the view source which is used quite frequently as well by "nefarious" ? others if they really want to look at your information.. that really doens't bother me .. really.. all it does is stop people from seeing where you have your files stored. Sweetsarahbeth, I just love your kitchen! How perfect for a home with four children! Besides being able to eat at the peninsula, your kids can do artwork or homework there too, making the kitchen a true hub of the house. It's so great that you have the window too! I wasn't here yet when the gang was advising you, but I'm so glad they talked you out of the island, because your peninsula is just perfect and looks like it belongs rather than was just kinda plopped in there, which is what I think an island would look like. Islands are all the rage right now and I think some people just want one because they're popular, even when it's all wrong for their kitchen. I'm getting the IKEA 25" apron front sink. I like that they make a cabinet specifically for it and I like the price. I'm getting the cabinet like lisa_a's that pulls out so I can have my trash can and cleaning supplies in there. However, I would really prefer an undermount because of the cleaning between sink and counter thing. So I'm making a trade-off. I'll ask the plumber to caulk the heck out of it, lol. Congratulations on your new kitchen! You've made great design decisions every step of the way! I can't imagine anything more perfect for your family. Well done. Keep posting pictures!! Oh, and I wanted to tell you that I think Sears has a pretty decent selection of white appliances. When you're looking at their website, say at refrigerators, you can filter it so you only see white ones. I just looked and they have 215 white refrigerators. Then you can filter by style (French door, side by side, etc.), by size, by price range, etc. I just went through this because I was looking for black. My kitchen will be simple, no extra fancy stuff, too, but I know it will be beautiful to me and will last for many, many years to come. I'll be very proud of my IKEA/Sears kitchen!! :-) I'll be very proud to pull it off on a small budget, but honestly, even if I had three times the budget, I don't know that I'd really change anything! I'm not a gourmet chef, and I live alone, so why would I buy an oven for $$$ that I don't need? People are putting IKEA cabinets in multimillion dollar homes because they're attractive, have superior hardware, and are super durable. I'm doing laminate wood-look floors too. My kitchen will be perfect for the size it is and for my personality and lifestyle, not to mention my budget. And yours is too!! :-) I LOVE IT!

Spanish, I am so glad you got to the bottom of your issues. You are the perfect example of why we all need to be our own advocates. Mistakes are made. A CVS made an error on one of my DD's prescription when she was very young. That is when I started using my local family run pharmacy exclusively. But still, we need to check everything. The local pharmacy is also a compounding center. Handmade specific meds for the individual can be so very important. Do not get stressed out about exercising. Your priority is your physical well being first. I think that walking would be the best exercise for you at this point. Keep us posted!
