Hi Girls- Giving DH a lesson

I'm showing DH how to post a message in case something happens. Like I find a good deal on dishes and pass out and hurt myself when I fall down. Now he will know how to tell y'all!!!

LOL, Betty, don't pass out till you spread the word..
If you don't hear from me...well, there's no hope dh would know how to post..he has no interest in computers!

We celebrated our 50th last May and I got my husband a Seiko mantle clock. It plays six different songs and they are all so pretty. They had several clocks to chose from and each clock had different songs. We have had so many compliments on the clock and the beautiful music. My husband was so pleased and that is saying a lot as he usually doesn't pay much attention to such things. I had a plate engraved and put on the front of it. Felt like it was a real hit. The cost was around $300. Bought it at a jewelry store, but you might google and find one on line. By the way, it doesn't have to be a mantle clock, but that is where we put it. Congratulations! Very funny. Does she still have a food fetish? ha Just kidding. I came up with some different names for my dolls and they all had to have middle names as well. Never named any of them after a food that I can remember though. Too cute. MY DS called one of his stuffed animals Spike and when we were looking for names for DD he said her name was gonna be Spike too and so she was called by everyone until she was born. ha Then he decided he would call her by her name, Neleh (Helen spelled backwards and pronounced Ne-lee-a) I still go for the different names. ha Does your DD have kids yet?? Well I totally agree with Organic, when the child is in your care and you organise a babysitter then that is your business and not the other parents'. The thought of informing BM has never even crossed our mind! And she doesn't ring us about her babysitters either, which is her right. We expect her to look after the kids properly when they are with her, and it is her judgement whether this or that person is ok to have as a babysitter. And if that person is not to our liking than it's stiff sh*t for us really. We actually had a situation a couple of years ago when BM hung out with a bunch of feral people. She got them to look after the skids quite a lot at one stage, and the skids used to dread going to their house because it was dirty and they'd have to sleep on the floor with a thin blanket that stunk like pee. And no I'm not exaggerating.. So FDH offered BM that we can always look after the skids when need be, and we are only 10 mins up the road so it's the same time as to drive to the ferals' place. But noooo, BM was in control of 'her' time and she'd be damned if she'd give us extra time for free, THAT was NEVER going to happen! Very frustrating but you can't do a thing about it. When the skids are with her it's her business. And in Loves case they are NOT dealing with 2 normal parents, BM is a mess, and to inform her is actually endangering SS and the babysitter. That poor girl doesn't need to be harassed by crazy BM. Most of us are here because we are not dealing with a normal parent, otherwise why hang around here if things are fine and both parents are normal? Love don't give BM the babysitters number, no way! BM can ring you guys if there's an emergency and maybe SS can ring her before you guys go, so he's had his phonecall to his mum for the day. And I don't think it's normal she talks to him that much, our BM does the same, exactly the same. She'll neglect the kids when they are with her (used to leave them home alone, go on the piss, promise them heaven but always have a headache when it's crunchtime, keep them out of school, not take them to sports etc etc). But oh boy when they are with us! Constant phonecalls to check if they are ok (it being such a risk to be with us) and making sure we'd take them to sports otherwise she'll come and pick them up herself (MOTY), blabla etc etc. It is controlling and disturbing and I'm frustrated on your behalf that you guys are harassed by this woman so much that it interferes with your normal everyday life. I learned having a vegetable garden is great! No kidding, it's my first year having my own. Pretty modest start, with a single 4'x8' raised bed, then again, I don't have a ton of estate on my small suburban lot. What I grew in there: two red tomato plants, three cherry tomato plants, one Italian, three cucumber plants, a few green beans, some shallots. Got a nice steady harvest of cucumber starting in mid-summer. Got plenty of tomatoes from all plants, but season was late for everything and still have lots of green ones on there, but they are plump and large. Have started to eat some a few weeks ago. Had our first frost a couple of days ago, but I cover with a tarp whenever there is a nightly threat. September weather has been really nice so far though, maybe not ideal for kick-starting the ripening process, but it's starting to get a bit crappier now, maybe things will progress a bit faster. I may have 50-60% of my crop still on the plants. I was lucky and did not get any significant pest or disease and I did nothing to prevent it really. For next season, I plan on having two more raised beds of same dimension as well as growing a few plants in large containers/buckets. I learned I should space tomato plants more than 12" apart, as I was told by someone who gave me seedlings. I should also figure out the support scheme before I need it. Same for cucumbers.

LOL, good idea, after all you know how badly we need the eye candy, better safe than sorry ;) otherwise it could cause serious repercussions in the economic world if we did not know where to go to get our treasures!

Alfred, you can DO IT! Don't let us be missing our Betty and not know why! I hate it when that happens!

I've instructed my DH to get on here and post a message or to at least email Karen (who he has met) so she can let you all know if I'm unable to post also.

Betty, happy dances will do--no passing out and hurting yourself, okay? ;o)

Now y'all know he would tell y'all which store I was in and what dishes caused me to pass out!!

I tried to get him to respond to your follow-ups, but he wouldn't!! LOL He just laughed. But, at least now he knows how.

How was your trip?

I'm not even going to consider trying to teach DH how to post here! Life is to short for some things and this is one.

Betty...don't you be doing such a thing!
You should train Alfred carry a pillow when you go dish shopping and use it 'Fast' to soften your fall!
Girl..we don't want to lose you AND important information.
Besides...men just don't have it in them to give us the same kind of Details...

Betty, you're a hoot! You must have a very good DH if he agrees to this idea! But do take care of yourself, shopping can be dangerous, ya know!

I'm with Punk on this one when she said "I'm not even going to consider trying to teach DH how to post here! Life is to short for some things and this is one." My DH is wonderful about most things but he's clueless about forums.

Betty, you sure know how to make me laugh. Especially as I am bad about getting these "mental pictures" of something. LOL. I could just see you passing out in a dish aisle. Alfred is such a good guy, if he started posting we'd probably have to KEEP him here somehow.

Luvs, I had to also laugh at you. I've got YOU down to contact by phone or email so my Forum friends would know if something happened. Neither of our DHs are likely to let us teach them how to get on here. LOL.

Hey, I showed him, but he wouldn't ACTUALLY post a message!

He will have forgotten how if I were to get hurt! I guess I will have to show DD how!!

We went to finish our Christmas shopping last night and he wandered away in TJ Maxx for a while. He waited UNTIL WE GOT HOME to tell me about a couple of things he saw that I probably would have liked!!! DRATS!!

I think the crowds of Ladies with baskets everywhere sort of got on his nerves. He gets a little claustrophobic inside of buildings with lots of people. Too bad he had forgotten about them by the time I checked out. He could have told me and I could have gone back in and bought them while he waited outside!

When we moved here I had all of my family over, then all of his family over for dinner on a couple of occasions and he waited until I had done this several times before he told me about it.

So, I will be having large gatherings in the summer from now on where he can get outside and we won't have everyone crowded inside the house when it is too cold to spread out and utilize the great outdoors. (I just have to get busy on the 'weeds everywhere' problem!) LOL
