You need to double check the 911 for your area. Usually it's just the "enhanced" 911 that isn't available..In other words you dial 911..and as soon as the line is picked up, your location comes up on the screen..so that if you couldn't "get your address" out..it's already available to dispatch. You can call the dispatch desk at your local PD, and find out. ~call the dispatch number not 911 to ask questions. :o) Our area doesn't support enhanced on Cable phone, so I won't switch. I've had to use 911 a few times in my childrens lives..I like the fact that they INSTANTLY know the location of the call, and are already having the emergency services on their way before I can even get all of what is wrong out.

Someone may have a more direct way, but if you can't find an easier way here's a way that I just tried and it worked for me: I used Audacity (free - google it if you want it) to record a file while I played it in windows media player then clicked file > export selection as mp3.

Most digital voice recorders that do allow you to transfer voice data to a PC use a USB interface. The link below explains how you record your voice to a pc, so perhaps instead of your voice, play the message from the Sony. See if that works. I picked the easy way out and bought for under $100 a USB turntable that connects to my computer. Software made by Cakewalk came with it as well as Audacity, but the Cakewalk software is very easy to use. I can save in different formats, burn to CD, etc. So much easier than any of the other methods I have read about. The turntable I bought is made by Audio-Technica, although there are several different brands available. I found mine by doing a search using Google, and after I decided on this brand, I searched for the best price I could find. I bought through an online merchant for a price much better than CC or BB for the same model. Sad to say, I haven't done very much with it as yet, converting only a few albums to digital, but I listen to the albums just for the fun of it. By the way, it has a dust cover, so I have it sitting on a little table next to my computer desk.
