Question about spyware

Hello - I've gotten great help here before, but looks like due to an idiot mistake I'm needing your help again. I put some items up for sale on Craig's List, and got this email (sent thru Craigslist, as I kept my email address anonymous)but like an IDIOT I clicked on the link. I quickly realized I done something stupid and closed the page out - didn't type anything in. However I am now worried that by clicking on the link I have infected my computer with some terrible spyware and so am afraid to use it to order anything online with my credit card. I don't do any online bill paying with my bank account, but I do check my balances, etc. but am now afraid to do that. I have Panda 2010 antivirus, and have downloaded and run a scan with Malwarebytes and Superantispyware - both scans found and removed some items, but I'm still worried. The following is what was in the text of the email. Thought I'd put that here and see if anyone knows about it and whether or not you have any advice. Thanks in advance.

If Malwarebytes is clean you can be pretty sure your ok, if you got infected you most likely to see some symptoms.

Run the on-line scan below to double check for Malware.

Establish an internet connection & perform an online scan with Firefox or Internet Explorer from here:

To optimize scanning time and produce a more sensible report for review:
Close any open programs
Turn off the real time scanner of any existing antivirus program while performing the online scan.
Click when prompted to download and install the program files and database of malware definitions.
Click Run at the Security prompt.
The program will then begin downloading and installing and will also update the database.
Please be patient as this can take several minutes.
Once the update is complete, click on My Computer under the green Scan bar to the left to start the scan.
Once the scan is complete, it will display if your system has been infected. It does not provide an option to clean/disinfect. We only require a report from it.
Do be alarmed by what you see in the report. Many of the finds have likely been quarantined.
Click View scan report at the bottom.
Click the Save Report As... button.
Click the Save as Text button to save the file to your desktop.

Note for Internet Explorer 7 users: If at any time you have trouble with the accept button of the licence, click on the Zoom tool located at the right bottom of the IE window and set the zoom to 75 %. Once the license accepted, reset to 100%.

Thank you so much for taking the time to help. I followed your instructions, and it didn't find anything so I'm feeling confident now that the Malwarebytes & SuperAntispyware took care of any problems my mess up may have caused, and I'm trying to look at it as a 'positive' experience now in that it really had me worried - so now I'll be extra careful and think before I click on anything plus I've learned the importance of having some good tools for regular maintenance.

Hi, zep, I can get my definitions update...I am thinking that this pop up is notifying me about a software update? I'm sorry, I wasn't clear on that. exgm, I followed your link and I am set up as a home group. I am the only administrator as far as I know. When I first set up the computer, the setup process asked me to type in my name...I thought that was naming myself as the administrator? ...I was doing some looking around to see if I could provide any more information. I opened up Properties for SAS and there is a tab there titled COMPATIBILITY. I opened it and there is a checkbox there that says Run this program as an administrator. Will it solve my problem if I check it?

http://www.superantispyware.com/index.html Definitely have him install and use Superantispyware it is in my opinion the best of the free antispyware scanners. But it really sounds to me like his email has been taken over if not his entire pc. He should discontinue use of that email address for anything personal or sensitive. Plus consider that anything that he did have in there is now up for grabs. If I were him I would close that email account, let his ISP know about it, and set up a new one with a very secure password, which is NOT a real word but a combination of letters and symbols. NEVER make a password out of a real word they can be cracked in seconds. To see if his pc has been taken over and is now a part of a zombie bot owned by some hacker I would highly suggest he go to one of the Pro Tech Help forums and let them tell him exactly what to install and how to check. They are excellent at this kind of thing. no it is one of the many rogue fake antivirus infections and you will need to go to one of the help forums to get assistance for some special scans, these leave things behind that have to be dealt with many contain rootkits so you really want to make sure it is all gone. this link will take you to the forum, just register there and start your own thread in this area I link you to, they will be there to assist you as soon as possible, please only follow the instructions there once commencing so that nothing gets confused and conflicts. Analysis and Malware Removal start your thread and tell exactly what you told here you can actually put a link back to this thread too. If you need help I am there too just let me know.

Frustration coming out of my ears. Used Recovery Partition and followed the directions given on line at HP. Have been successful in installing two printers: HP4 (Vista supports it) and HP1017, the latter by obtaining an updated driver from HP online. But now I have a major problem. The D-Link wireless connection from the other computer doesn't work, this in spite of plugging/unplugging into USB, restarting computer, and downloading & installing (I thought) an updated driver.(It's a good thing we have a 2nd computer as a work-around.) What next? Do I phone HP and hope I get someone who speaks English? Or did I miss something?
