Transferring Bookmarks To Mac

I have a new Mac that I want to use Firefox on and want to transfer my bookmarks. I've done this on a couple of PC's with no problem, but not so with the Mac. Every time I try to import nothing comes through.

I made the mistake of calling the "tech support" and got the royal runaround, including a "help line number" for Firefox. Huh? Never knew they had a number, but hey, couldn't hurt to try, right? Turns out the number was for Firefox WAREHOUSE in California!

So has anyone transferred their bookmarks from a PC to a MAC and had sucess. I've searched the web, but the solutions they suggest haven't worked.

If your 1st computer is also running Firefox you can get a add on called foxmark that coordinates bookmarks between two or more computers. It will add any bookmark that is not present on one computer that is on the other computer so it keeps both computers with the exact same bookmarks. I use it on a PC laptop and a Mac desktop and it works great.

If you do not have too many files you could save them as RTF (Rich Text Format) and move them over. RTF files are readable by just about all word processors. Try one first to be sure.

Bob, thank you for the suggestion. After looking up how to right-click on this baby (!!!!), I right-clicked every space that might be considered a "top toolbar" and a few more besides. Nowhere did I see a place that would allow me to uncheck bookmarks. I can vaguely remember doing that on my XP when I got it so I'm sure you're right, but I'm missing something somewhere now. Any ideas? J

tonbiak, where do I find the add on? I checked under tools, etc., but couldn't find anything like that.

Thanks all. I found out I was doing one step wrong which is why the bookmarks wouldn't import.

I now have all the bookmarks imported.
