Neal I would suggest you telephone MS and explain the situation. They changed the rules maybe 2 years ago now making moving an OEM OS to another computer a no no. This is/was particularly true with factory built machines where the OEM OS was tied to a particular motherboard. Even swapping to a new motherboard caused problems that most users simply accepted. Those who took the trouble to fight won in a couple of cases I knew about. But you need to be persistent and if necessary ask for a supervisor to resolve the issue. Get all your ducks lined up so you can answer all the questions, good luck. the links in owbist post are for the version of that laptop with the intel dual core processor that is very different than the celeron processor version you posted asking about. The dual core would be a much better choice however it is of course more expensive, well worth it though. They seem to use the same model number with various processor choices which is a bit confusing. Celerons just do not have much power especially if you will be using it in your office applications.

I downloaded and installed the JV16 Power Tools 2007 last night. Quite an interesting utility. The Reg Cleaner option is quite familiar as it strongly resembles the old RegCleaner. I ran the "Cleaner" and it located 305 entries which I backed up and removed without a problem. Admittedly, I didn't spend too much time with the other options. For me personally, I am much more comfortable with this application on Vista than the aforementioned RegSeeker. Finally not to misrepresent to anyone my use of a registry utility, I do not believe a cleaner is part of a standard maintenance program. It is my opinion it should be used for cleaning up after a series of major application deletions or as a response to a system not operating as it should. DA
