Need New years poem

I need a new years type poem to send to my spouse that is currently in a drug rehab facility to give a little history we have been together for 15 years and he has been in rehab since middle of November. He will be there until at least middle of August, this last couple of years has been really hard for the kids and myself not knowing where he was or when he might come in. Not to mention the "girlfriend" that helped to land him where he is because the only way she could keep him around was to keep bringing him the "stuff" do not get me worng I do not blame her completely but I have told her myself that she did not care for him because she helped his problem instead of trying to fix it and as soon as he landed in rehab she deserted him...ok sorry did not mean to totally unload just want a poem to let him know that I am here for him......we start a family improvement class next weekend, can't think of a better way to start my new year.

A brand new year
lets look forward with hope
put the past behind us
let me help you cope.
Mistakes have been made
lets not play who's right or wrong
just concentrate on recovery
and coming home where you belong.

I wish you all the best and hope the recovery works, it's not a great poem but you might be able to add to it. Sue

This is one I did (in counted cross-stitch) for my MIL several years ago. To His Mother "Mother-in-law" they say, and yet, Somehow I simply can't forget 'Twas you who watched his baby ways, Who taught him his first hymn of praise, Who smiled on him with loving pride, When he first toddled by your side. "Mother-in-law" but oh, 'twas you Who taught him to be kind and true; When he was tired, almost asleep, 'Twas to your arms he used to creep. And when he bruised his tiny knee, 'Twas you who kissed it tenderly. "Mother-in-law" they say,and yet, Somehow I never shall forget How much I owe To you, who taught him how to grow. You trained your son to look above; You made of him the man I love. And so I think of that today When with thankful heart I'll say, "Our Mother."

I'm nearly sixty, and I love, love my raised DW. I just have a trash cab b/w the sink and the DW, and it works perfect for me. But I guess you'll have a bigger cab b/w the two. I think that can work too. But if possible have a narrow cab as tall as DW, then DW and then the trash and sink. When loading the DW you can keep the trash open and so no drips on the floor. If you go that way it may be a good idea to continue the counter material on the side of the DW. Here's what mine looks like.

Thanks Carol but I think it needs something about the children and recovery meaning a complete family but can't get the words right. Any suggestions? Sue :)

Well...I still think it is great the way you wrote it, Sue, but how about ending with...

We'll be here waiting,
Just the kids and me...
And when we re-unite,
We'll be a complete family!

That's it Carol. Thank you.
Of course it's up to KrftyKritter whether she uses it or not but the bit about a complete family seems more fitting for what is hopefully a successful outcome for them all. Sue :)
