Wait for the new CS-1660 refrigerator from Liebherr to come out

Why should I wait -- what's the advantage since it will doubtless be more $$$. And when will it be out?

I must say, if manufacturers and retailers are not selling as much as they would like, there are real reasons. I did a reno 5 years ago and, while there was less variety, there also were far fewer issues with availability and information.

When a major manufacturer cannot supply a faucet to a customer who wants it, they lose the sale to someone who can. Also, the disconnect I've seen on the part of sellers about what's going on in the market also has been interesting.

IMHO, your list looks great. I would love to have those appliances in my kitchen. I also agree with your observations concerning sales and disconnect.

What style faucet are you interested in?

I have the Leibherr and absolutely love it.
I have a Bertazzoni drop-in cooktop and also love it.
I also have a Bosch front loading washing machine and love that.

Not sure if anyone is ready for my faucet issues. LOL.

I'm looking for what's called a "pre-rinse" faucet -- also considering the Karbon but currently leaning away from that. I'd like a bit of quality bling.

The faucet I really want is not available now and may not be available in my time frame. Grrr. Also, my designer discount is not as good as some of the online prices -- one weird disconnect going on in this market. So the shopping gets complex -- hardly a problem -- just a judgment call.

In this market, though, I find myself second-guessing every purchase: does the expenditure have real value? Will it be reliable and not a PITA? How much does style and brand count? (kitchen brands tend to find their way into r.e. listings where I live.) How does it fit with the overall? I am, admittedly, doing a high end kitchen upgrade (no new cabinets) but trying to keep it real and appropriate.

Beautiful choices! You do have excellent taste. Everything will look great and work great too.

If you want quibbles, the Bertazzoni is probably more beautiful than functional (that is, the function isn't better than a GE or something and the extra cost is the beauty). If that's ok with you (paying for beauty not function) then it's worth it because it's lovely. I stopped looking at them when I heard they had some ignition issue, which would drive me nuts, and they don't have really high BTU's.

Viking is coming out with an 18K BTU range that should be beautiful (not as beautiful, but they do come in pretty colors) and more functional than the Bert. But you probably know that already! I don't think you can go wrong with what you have.

Those Miele dishwashers are so pretty, as are the Leibherr fridges. I have the Bosch washer and dryer you are getting and love them. I can't say they are super-special but they are nice. The Miele are way nicer and way pricier. I think that's true of all the Miele everything-- their fridges make me sad because everything else pales. But you know all this already, too!

I love my Liebherr fridges. I like all your choices but you know that I disagree with the choice of ranges. I am still holding out for you to go ahead and get the Lacanche!!!! You know you want one:-) I live through all of you!!! I remember that you had some concerns about getting a super high powered stove because of venting issues!

What is special about the new Liebherr? I am considering getting an all Freezer or a 24" fridge freezer. I currently have a 30" fridge/freezer and love it. I just need more freezer space because I am making a lot of my food at home and need space for all the stocks and frozen foods that I am making.

nesting -- glad to hear good things about the Bosch w/d. I'm looking forward to having those and the new D/W and fridge especially. I had good reports from Berta owners and I'm not looking for a pro style or high power range so, fingers crossed.

homepro -- you keep my hope alive. One day....(of course, then I'd have a tough decision about the color! LOL). But as you can see, I've taken your recommend on the Liebherr.

I will take one win. Did you consider the Miele for the washer dryer? I had heard that the newer axxis from Bosch was being built differently. Did you consider the Asko? They are still building the 220V units and they do look mighty slick! I saw your lament on the Kohler Karbon, have you looked at the Dornbracht Profi? My all time favorite sprayer faucet. I am partial to the Tara but it can be used with pretty much all the kitchen faucets. I just purchased a Tara for my bathroom.

If you have never had a condensing dryer they take some getting used to. I had Asko, not Bosch. The dryer takes significantly more time than a vented dryer, which can cause a back-up when doing multiple loads.--And it would also significantly increase the temperature and humidity of the room it was in.

The washers spin ultra fast and my Asko had a sensor that would try to rebalance the load so it would not vibrate like crazy. Maybe one load in 100 would not balance and it would just shift back and forth endlessly.

A client of mine has a ventless Bosch for their downstairs rental unit, and when the tenant does laundry it vibrates the entire house. Kind of like watching the train-passing scenes in "A Letter to Three Wives" Mine didnt do this but it was on concrete, not a joisted floor.

I would still recommend them.

The w/d is installed in a closet and I feel that Bosch will suffice as there are other laundry facilities in the building. Having found an inch of laundry lint underneath my refrigerator, I'm looking forward to the condenser dryer trap.

My preferred faucet is the Dornbracht Tara Ultra but the price is more for the one piece than I paid for both pieces 4 years ago. Rohl makes a beauty but those are on back order and not available until end of Aug -- too late.

I have been through every possible brand for the style I want and specs I need. DH didn't care for the Karbon (though someone got a great buy on that on ebay the other day for $575!).

Currently going to look at the Elkay. KWC & MGS are too big and spouts too long.

So I'm lurking, hoping to have some last-minute faucet luck. I figure I have another 10-14 days until I'm forced to buy something so the marble can be templated. Grrrr

If anyone has an online source with good faucet discounts for dornbracht and rohl (in addition to ebay), I'd love to have the info.

Boy, you have made a lot of progress since I last checked in here a few months ago.
I love your choices, but I do have personal experience with the washer you are considering. We had one in our townhouse. I think they come in two motor qualities, or whatever you call it. Ours was the stronger motor. Have you heard one when it is on spin? It is like a jet engine. The sound is not at all like a washing machine. We sold the townhouse and bought a condo. I made sure I upgraded the washer. I have either an Asko or Miele. I cannot recall because I am not there now. I just know I will never have another jet. Also, you cannot use Clorox in the front loaders, you know that, right? I'm okay with that, because I just take anything I want to bleach with me to my other house. You can do that, too!
