French Door Refrigerators
Comments (21)Any French door should fit. Most of those listed at 36" wide are actually about 35.5 so if you have a 36" space it will just clear. If not there are 33 inch models but you usually would not have ice and water dispensing (which some people don't care for anyway). 72 inch height clearance will be no problem. You might want to take a look at some of the double pullout drawer models, some of them give you two freezers while some give you a ref pullout which is good for produce, kids drink boxes, deli products etc. I'm in the business and I regard LG, Samsung and Kitchenaid as the best brands but Whirlpool and Frigidaire also have some nice offerings and are more budget friendly....See MorePerfect in-the-door refrigerator ice maker?
Comments (3)I have a Kitchen Aid refrigerator and the icemaker is the worst I have ever seen. If you use the crushed ice option, the next time you use the cube option, crushed ice spills everywhere along with a "glob" of cubes. When you use the cube option, 1 or 2 cubes will get caught in the icemaker and stops ice production completely. Every so often, cube ice will just fall out onto the floor when no one is using the icemaker. I would never buy another Kitchen Aid refrigerator because of the ice maker....See MoreSamsung Refrigerator not level front to back -- Question
Comments (13)You might be entitled to a refund from Samsung. Please do not buy a Samsung fridge. Mine leaked 13 months after we bought it. it ruined my floor. it ices up in the back and under the bottom drawer. it ruins food on a regular basis. when you call consumer cares at Samsung, they will tell you it is a warranty issue. imthat is probably a lie. Samsung fridges have known design defects since 2006 and there are class action suits against them. Sarch on YouTube for Samsung fridge recall and you will find news stories about the thousands who have demanded reparation. if you bought a Samsung fridge, send it back or buy an extended warranty. or research other options to get refunded the money stolen from you when Samsung sold you a "lemon"....See MoreRefrigerator next to kitchen doorway? Comments (7)@herbflavor - your comment about the orphan cabinet is right-on! I hadn't noticed that before. That wall has been the biggest problem throughout this project. It is really the only place to put the refrigerator. The reason I was trying to fit the MW there is to get it out of the way of the range - and to set up the range wall as a pretty focal point from the DR view. I think I may try turning that cabinet to face the DR and setting it up like a hutch - with DR side access to the blind cabinet beneath. Thanks for your help! @LoPay - are you talking a pull-out pantry above the peninsula to the right of the MW cab? @sena01 - thanks for the illustration! I'm glad to hear you don't find the narrow point between the doors in your kitchen to be restrictive. @blfenton - thanks for your response on the other thread - I responded there too. I like the idea of creating a whole wall of floor to ceiling cabinetry. I think the narrow angled cabinet I had there is an example of my over-thinking things too much. :) @ mrsmortarmixer - wow! That is beautiful - what a unique feature. I bet it will be stunning when it is complete! Thank you all!...See Moreespnola
