Weird issue with Google

I probably do a Google search 5-10 times a day for a wide variety of things. Usually it works fine, but lately, instead of the search results coming up immediately, I will somtimes get a screen that says something like: "We've been getting a lot of traffic from your IP address. In order to make sure you are not a bot sending out requests, please fill-in the Captcha phrase in the box." Once I do that, I get the search results. After that, I'm good to do regular searches again, without the interference, but it has been happening once or twice a day for a week or two.

I'm running Win Vista, with Avast. I've also run Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware, and I'm totally clean. My computer runs fast, and I haven't seen anything like excessive hard drive activity to make me think any malware is using my machine. I did switch over to a new ISP about 2 months ago so I could get FiOS, but I've not generally had any problems with the new provider.

It's not a big deal, but it's weird and annoying. Any ideas about what could be going on here?

Have you rebooted your gateway to force an IP address change?

By any chance, do you have an unsecured wireless network? If yes, maybe you have an intruder. If no, there's still a chance you've been infected. Might be a good idea to locate a rescue cd from an AV provider you trust. Download it-burn it-boot it and scan your system without booting Windows. Nothing to lose by trying and if you're still clean...so much the better.

Two things come to mind. I think Painted Mountain corn is considered a cold hardy type and you being in 9b, your temps might be messing with it. Also, I think Painted Mountain is a shorter type of corn anyway. I hope you find your answer. Good luck.

Maybe I am missing something but it appears that you have a significant bargaining tool since it seems as though you could block the flow at your property line unless there is something in your chain of title that gives your neighbor an easement for the use of your lines. Obviously I wouldn't unilaterally cut off the lines but I would check your deed and chain of title for easements and then let your neighbor know that obviously he needs to find a new drainage system and see what kind of negotiation you wind up with in terms of cost sharing.

I'm not sure what he did. It doesn't look polished. I would use diamond honing to try to remove the surface but you can try sandpaper to gently sand those tiles. It will be tricky though. Try, starting at 120 grit then 220, 400 to see if it blends. OR as SJ McCarthy indicated, sometimes it's best to let sleeping dogs lie.

Water infiltration can be problematic to find. It is often said that water does not run uphill but that is false; it does when backed by the wind. In that situation, wind-driven rain can pour in places it normally does not. Finding how it is coming in can be a problem.

Thanks, guys. Marooma, especially, I appreciate the thread: I did a little Googling before I posted, but didn't turn that one up. I also talked to my ISP since and they said it was a known issue relating to some ISP address migration issue. At least I can relax about some stealth infection. And azinoh, thanks for the thought about security, but I'm always fully secured, and no one outside the network in my house has access to my router.
