I have a chrome Jeeves installed in November. I bought it from a local bathroom fixture discounter (not big box). Even so, it was relatively expensive, but has turned out to be one of the best things about the remodel. The chrome cleans up easily with a microfiber, but doesn't really get too many fingerprints--just two of us using it most times. The other fixtures are also chrome. I had the electrician install a programmable timer switch, but if I had it to do over, I would just go with on and of as it is on most of the time.

Good point yadax. At least you have the stuff to hand and can bring it in to the room to see how it looks. We're supposed to be deciding on our shower door this weekend and although we are going frameless, there will still be hinges, etc. writersblock, I agree that it may all end up looking random which is the last thing I want. I'm all for sleek and organized looking. Argh, I just cannot deal with any more decisions! The safest way to go might be everything else in chrome to match what we've already installed.

Those finishes look about right as examples of brushed stainless steel and brushed nickel. You can combine both finishes in your kitchen. How you go about it just has to make sense. The stainless steel does look a little more contemporary, because it has a slight blue undertone. The brushed nickel is warmer. My brushed stainless steel faucet Brizo Floriano shows no finger prints, but my brushed stainless steel appliances show everything. Go figure. My brushed nickel knobs show no prints, either. I used brushed nickel cabinet hardware, because it worked better with the warm tones of the maple cabinets yet still related to the grey of the stainless steel. The selection is greater for cabinet hardware and faucets with brushed nickel finish than for brushed or shiny stainless steel finish. My advice, wait until everything else is done in your kitchen, and then make your final decision on your cabinet hardware. Take home several styles and finishes. The hardware is the final touch that brings everything together. Like jewelry. Sometimes you can go with more, sometimes less; but in the end it has to look right!

Our sink fixtures are a mix of satin nickel and brushed SS and they look fine together. Our lights are pewter. Our drawer pulls and door knobs are antique iron. Our pantry door hardware is brushed nickel. They all look fine together. My personal preference is to have hardware and fixtures in the same color "family" - usually broken down into "silver" or "gold". However, you can mix them up if you're careful bow you do it.
