IE 7 and Webkinz website

Hi,

Using IE 7, MS XP

All of a sudden, when I use IE 7 and go to webkinz website it gives me the first log in screen then when I click Log In it just shows a blank page but indicates that the loading is done. I have NO other problems using IE for any other sites. Opera works fine and I can get in with that but would like to know what happened with using IE and how to fix it. What's different, well the only thing different was I deleted files, cookies and history through Internet Properties. Now I have done that MANY times and there was never a problem. Ran Spyware App and found nothing. Does anyone have a solution, thought or advice on what to do? Again no other problems with IE at ANY OTHER sites. Thanks.

That site on the page I just visited with Mrs Webkinz asking me to become a member is using adobe Flash.

On the bottom of IE window is the information bar ... perhaps it shows an eyeball with a red hash thru it... double click on that eyeball and it shows whats blocked or you can unblock there too.

Perhaps you've an old copy of flash player in IE and they used the latest version to update a page.

Just taking a wild stab at what it could be.

I doubled click the eye and got a Private Report dialog box that read To view a sites privacy summary, select in the list and then click summary. www://webkinz.com/style.css was listed and to the right it said blocked. I highlighted and clicked summary and got Privacy Policy dialog box that read...Could not find a privte policy for www://webkinz.com/style.css To view this sites privacy policy contact the website directly. Also in that dialog box at the bottom it reads..How should cookies from "webkinz . com be handled"?
--Compare cookies privacy policy to my settings
--Always allow this site to use cookies
--Never allow this site to use cookies

The first one was checked.
BTW privcy settings are set at Medium.

What are your thoughts or suggestions? Thank you very much.

Yeah, this HP I'm using right now is going back to Sam's, anyway, as soon as the new Dell I just ordered comes... HP has BURNED ITS BRIDGES with me... after 35 months as a customer with first one, then two computers registered in their database and me ALMOST ordering a replacement for this defective piece of DISPLAYWARE I unfortunately walked out of Sam's Club with, I flaked out of the sale in the middle of the "Checkout" process the other night because I had a couple "issues" I couldn't resolve online (primarily a LONG buildtime I couldn't understand) -- at which point their system popped up a little window asking if I was having a problem I couldn't resolve online and would like someone to call me, and if so, to leave my first and last name, and a phone number and click continue, which I did... then I made sure my "cart" was saved so I wouldn't lose the configuration I had set up, as it takes a few minutes to get one like you want it if you don't just want a stock system (and if I wanted that I'd buy the cheap junk they sell pre-built, like what I'm taking back, lol)... and then I closed the HP window and went about my business... When I hadn't had a call from HP by Monday night (that was Sunday night), I logged on last night to see what was going on, and it showed my cart was EMPTY (of course NAV ran in the interim, so my cookies probably got cleaned, but I DID have an account using my email address and a password, for like 3 years now), so I tried logging on, and my password didn't work... Well I have a few different ones, so I figured maybe I FORGOT which one I was using with HP, so I clicked the "forgot my password" link and plugged in my email address and they HAVE NO RECORD of my email address... So I called them up and talked to one of their sales people, and he searched the computer, and they have NO RECORD OF MY EMAIL ADDRESS, NAME, OR PHONE NUMBER (the primary ways they would have me referenced), which means they likely don't even have my current computer and monitor (the ones that are going back to Sam's and still have 10 months fo warranty left -- supposedly) in their database with my name on them any more. Well, THAT DID IT -- Dell got the sale... But now it's been more than 24 hours since I closed THAT sale, and although I immediately got an automatic email from THEM "acknowledging" the order, I've yet to get the "order confirmation" email, with the "order number" and my "customer number," etc. I just KNOW you folks didn't care about all this jazz, but I'm just SO freakin' frazzled and frustrated with these #$%^&* computer companies right now I could EAT A BULLFROG!!! :-P Somebody PLEASE "pass me a Coke and a smile" or SOMETHING! :) At any rate, with this HP Media Center that's going back to Sam's (not ONE, but TWO defective CD drives, and a cordless mouse that eats batteries like CHEESE), the FIRST THING I did when I got it was create the System Restore disks and Restore it to factory condition (considering it had been a display model for like 8 months, I thought that was QUITE PRUDENT, huh?)... So that's happening AGAIN before it goes back to Sam's, so they don't get anything I paid for, lol, and in the case I.E. 7 DID cause any problems, they'll all go bye-bye... And I'm guessing if this new Dell system EVER DOES "confirm" and ship, it'll COME with I.E. 7, so I really won't have to worry about it, since I really won't have a choice, lol. Ummmmmmmmm, anyone wanna give me a ride to the funny farm so I don't have to leave the car there? :-P

"mikie - IE back/forward button has a drop down arrow with some pages there, plus right there in that drop down is a link to immeadiate history... which has the long list of links to previous viewed pages. Seems to be all in order." Hmm, I must be missing something because none of that is there for me. When I right click on the back/forward arrows, I get a small drop-down menu with "restore, minimize and close" as the only available clickable options (the other options (grayed-out) are "move, size and maximize"). There is no listing of pages viewed, or a link to immediate history (except if I click on my favourites). I'm not sure why I'm not getting it. "Only thing I have against IE7 is the dang menu bar wont skinny down to just the one url/address bar height & has the extra search box which is redundant as the address box searches perfectly fine." IÂve noticed that, too. I tried the Âfull screenÂ option, but that of course, takes away all of the ÂbarsÂ. Thank you for your reply.

I have been running IE7 (I should say it's running in the background of my sbc yahoo browser, I use both) for about a month now. One thing I noticed when I switched from IE6 to IE7 was an increase in pop ups, even though I have two different popup blockers installed. Three nights ago, I received an update from microsoft, I believe it has to do with melicious softwares detection. Anyway, not one popup has gotten through since the update, so I am hoping that solved the problem. It was generally about one or two popups every time I was on the 'net (generally for about a half hour to an hour's time). I was about ready to roll it back to ie6, but now I think I will keep it and see how it goes. I do like a number of the new features, especially the tabbed browsing. --J

Safe is one thing, functional is another. My leaning is towards that it should be ok as W2000 is NT based as is XP, Vista and W7. I can see no reason not to try it. Will all the features work? Testing will tell. From a quick research the reported reason that W2000 was not included is that it's lifecycle of support had expired. DA

Set it to always allow cookies - so you wont have to login after the first use.

see it that fixes you..... you might have to put the www.webkinz.com into your safe site list to get around their lack of privacy policy or signing of it.

I went to the settings and got the dialog box Per site privacy actions, manage sites and selected the web url and clicked allow, the two didn't url for the two different login screens and clicked okay. But nothing happened. I still can't get there. Maybe I'm doing something wrong or missing something. What's next?

I'd probably go to adobe and run the Flash Uninstaller from the downloads page. Reboot... Go back and get the current version of Flash.

That should fix flash if it should be broken in IE or outdated.

Ok, will you explain to me in laymans terms what Flash has to do with me not getting into this ONE websites with IE. I just don't understand since ever other site is fine. Thank you for your time.

That website is using FLASH... heavily.

If you already have allowed cookies and put the site in the safe list .. Flash is maybe broken or outdated in IE ... that would be my next Stab in the dark guess.

For me thats a Simple thing to do .. un-install/reinstall flash. I'm not sitting there at your computer to be able to look at everything, hopefully figuring out exacts, so thats my next best guess at a possible fix.

The website really should be redirecting you to an UtOh page saying whats wrong but they didn't do things perfect. And you cant really blame anybody for being a bit less than perfect.
If we were all perfect, we sure would be bored easily with the internet and might have to experiment growing rutabagas hydroponically.

I got bored with my perfect hydroponic rutabagas, and turned to the internet for entertainment. The rutabagas are so perfect, they don't need entertainment.

I am having the same issue with the Webkinz Login page. I am currently using the Windows XP Home platform and Internet Explorer 7. I've never run into this issue until today. I am able to visit www.webkinz.com but when I try to "login" the screen pops up blank. I am able to login to Webkinz via my laptop which is Windows Vista Home Premium with Internet Explorer 7. I have uninstalled and reinstalled both my Adobe Flashplayer and Sun Java and still am unable to view the Webkinz Login page. Please help.. any help or idea for resolving this problem would be greatly appreciated.. by the way Ganz (Webkinz) doesn't help much.
