Hi, I, too, got Foxit based on suggestions in recent threads. It did make itself the default .pdf reader, but just this moring I went to my Lavabit email account where I received a file labelled PHP -- I'm no expert about such things, so I'm not sure how that differs from .pdf. Anyway, when I went to open it, it did NOT open with Foxit, but with Adobe ! All I could figure to do was download the file to My Documents where I had to right-click and then manually select the program to open the file (where I chose Foxit). Worked great from that point on. But why didn't it open with Foxit by default ?

fwiw... I don't know or have not used perfect uninstaller. I do know and use revo uninstaller and it has been a very good program. While it never has for me, it could maybe use poor judgement as most any aggressive uninstaller could and all will have the potential to cause a problem. Look at trendmicro site for an uninstaller !! Many anti-virus have a cleanup or unistall tool. Make a restore point !!! First. After you uninstall your Trend Micro - Might consider windows secutity essentials anti-virus program. Light load on resources and it works for most people & is so simple. free !! Install and forget almost - untill you see a webpage turn red with a virus detected warning. this is all info for AVAST the I ball that is beside the blue A ball you want to right click that and tell it to join the A ball, can not remember the terminology but it will just make one ball, you can also drag it onto the A ball to do that. You will need to change the proxy settings in your IE browser so that your web shield is working properly. here are the directions for how to do that Configuration of the Web Shield HTTP proxy If you bring up Avast screen with a regular left click then click details it will open up so you can see the various aspects, it should be set to High sensitivity then if you scroll down on the left to the web shield if you see no activiity and zero counted then you know you have to set up that proxy as instructed in my link, if you do not that part is not working and you want that to work. Following the directions is very very easy I have had to do it on all of mine.
