looking for pics of fiber cement siding in greens or grays
Comments (7)pdessena, Yes a Brentwood. I wanted a gray that was away from the blue that seems to proliferate around here. We used the hardi siding and a color that was on the purple side of gray. The (doubled) gables were the builders idea, he uses that as a trademark. It provides a toybox and sitting area in the window. I am happy we spent the extra(abo--anticipated budget overrun) on the siding....See MoreEK Emerald--anyone have pics? Or the perfect dark blue-green?
Comments (26)Update: Pacific Rim turned out to be a smidge too green for our purposes (I am really trying to stay away from something reading "hunter" if one is lazy, iykwim) -- I found a Valspar color, of all things -- "Ocean Abyss", which looks like a less saturated version of EK Emerald that got us into this mess in the first place :). Got a flat enamel quart of it and we're liking it. So my question: anyone ever used Valspar flat enamel? Geez, it sounds like primer in the can compared to other paints I've used, but it didn't technically drip...they say it's a scrubbable matte, but I'm definitely seeing some sheen. Trying to decide if I should have it done in a flatter flat (still scrubbable). I have about 2 gals to do, and if I can make do with the Valspar I will have much more $$ left over when I'm done, compared to Aura or up...(although I just painted my front door with Aura Exterior Semi-Gloss and I must say it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. I wish I had more to do with it, but it's definitely just a spot color--BM Merlot Red)....See MoreIf you have dark coloured wood siding.....
Comments (5)I would disagree and say that Maibec is used far more extensively than Cape Cod (though I personally have used Cape Cod more) - they're an identical product and both are great. They do lose some sharpness to their stain after numerous years but are a fantastic product - they would probably need to be refinished every 7-8 years to be kept looking in perfect shape - or almost never if you didn't mind them not looking exactly perfect (weathered). And Maibec's Hematite is my favourite colour offered....See MoreDark grey vs White quartz counter with dark hardwood floors
Comments (38)HI joshua123, The kitchen tile is from Pratt & Larson. It is a custom waterjet mosaic piece in marble. The color is a dark grey with a lot of variation. the exact color is bardiglio. the white boarder and interior boarded are snow white marble. kathy and Micah at pratt & lason were extremely helpful finding exactly what I wanted for our kitchen. I'll have to post a couple more pictures from a sunny day, as the ones I have posted dont really reflect the real colors. as far as style and mosaics being dated or not, I'm a firm believer that you should go with what you love and what speaks to you. you are going to be living in the house and walking into that kitchen every day. I dont think our kitchen mosaic looks dated at all, but I'm also not a designer. I can tell you it makes me happy when I walk in to make my morning coffee in that room. I did consider using more of that tile to cover the entire backspace area from the cooktop to the hood, as diana illustrated in some of her photos, to really give it a more modern look, but it was too expensive to justify in this house....See Moregirlonafarm
