I'm not in the house yet, but my plan is to use my central vac (with hide a hose!) and a hard floor attachment. As far as mopping, I'll use the little buffer I bought when staining the floors. It's got a terry cloth bonnet that should be perfect. Whatever you decide to clean the floors with, just make sure it's pH neutral. I don't see why you wouldn't be able to use your Floormate.

trudymom, we're going with copper patina. Hope to get the test stain areas done soon so we can decide on how many coats ets. Tom

Trudy-We are still under construction but have stained concrete for the entire 1st floor. We had a great company do the work and they have some maintenance info on their website if you would like me to send it to you. They told us that the key to a great looking floor was the concrete mix and the concrete finishing crew. Our crew was great and really worked our slab to get a hard troweled finish. There are some places that will need to be touched up (like around the floor plugs) but we plan to have a maintenance free (other than semi-annual) floor after move in. I'll send a pic but it's not very good.

We have stained concret floors that we have lived with for 6 years.
Regular vacum, low shine(we don't like high gloss)floormate for washing.

We love them, easy to clean with dogs in the house. They are not perfect, Finishing is an art and you will always have some minor blemishes or imperfections.
