Do you mean stain or concrete coloring? We used Buff in our driveway mix. I really like it because it's not stark and blends with the house, woods and stone better than plain concrete.

Down by the street, we had to do so many feet of black - which fades to gray and looks like asphalt. Very expensive to do the darker color. Here's a photo showing both.

allison, the foundation person must have said concrete coloring. Your driveway area is very gorgeous. Any idea how much extra $$ the concrete coloring was as opposed to not using it? Thank you for the picture--it helped alot!!

This was in 09/2005.
Base concrete was $67 per yard. 3000psi concrete.
Fiber mesh was $4.50 per yard.
Oker (not buff) was $12 a bag - One 25lb bag per yard.

Charcoal was $33 a bag - One bag per yard (doesn't sound #lb) but DH feels like it was 25lbs.

We did our sidewalk and front and back proches with tinted concrete. We used the Graphite color. Picture below is of back deck and walkway. I've forgotten the price but if there is a "next" build we'll consider doing the foundation stem wall with tinted concrete. Tom

We used colored concrete after seeing at a Parade home. We love it and get lots of compliments. The dark brown color reminds us of a woodland path, not harsh concrete. I think it's going to look fab once I landscape. We had the sidewalk and the area under the deck finished to expose the aggregate:

I love exposed aggregate but you have to be careful where it's installed. My parents had it at their house and the drive was a tad steep. It got very slippery when it rained (south, no snow). They ended up jack hammering it up and putting down pavers instead.
