I have a mammilaria rhodantha that is two inches wide and four inches tall. sadly, it appears to have base rot and I fear that my only options are to either cut it in half and try to root it or just throw it away. Can it survive this kind of surgery???

I have the cloud nine and find it too hard and uncomfortable. Reached out to Lee and they said they could only replace the cushions with the same type (which if they are uncomfortable, why would u want more of the same) but would they would put a note to make them softer. Still hard and uncomfortable. So essentially a waste of cushions and shipping altogether for Lee and myself instead of trying to please a customer. The fabric (linen looking) also pills badly, and they told me to shave with a sweater shaver or sand w sandpaper to get off all the little balls. (I have no pets so this is just normal wear) This is with calling them soon after receiving the couch. So they aren’t going to do much for you if the fabric isn‘t holding up or you are not satisfied with the cushions. A very expensive sofa to purchase for such poor customer service. Yet being that I don’t wish to add this big thing to the landfill and need a sectional, I will be purchasing new cushions and very expensive slipcovers. (Likely spending more than I would for a new couch) my friend has the same sofa, different cushions, and it’s very comfortable, so I have hope. Unfortunately she doesn’t remember which one. So far cloud nine is hard and maintains shape and down is comfortable but needs constant fluffing. So I’m thinking that maybe leaves the Haven. Maybe you should look at Restoration Hardwares cloud collection. If I purchased a new sofa, that was one I was considering. Good luck on your purchase getting stuck w one for several thousand dollars that you are not happy with is definitely a bummer.

Like Jack, my only auto-defrost freezer is the one on my refrigerator and things do seem to get freezer burned more quickly, and it doesn't seem to freeze as "hard" as the others. In addition to the bottom freezer on my fridge, I have three chest freezers and an upright, and defrost them all yearly when beef is being processed, then go help my daughter defrost her upright. Yes, I use them all, LOL. Two are in the pole barn, one is strictly for beef and the other a mix of venison and chickens, we raise meat birds every year and my husband hunts. The upright in the garage holds pork, we buy a hog locally every year and the final chest freezer in the garage is for garden produce like corn, shredded zucchini for zucchini bread, bags of rhubarb and broccoli. It's also where the raspberries and strawberries we grow go, and the asparagus from our patch. Any butternut squash left in storage in the spring will be roasted, pureed and packed into bags and stored there too, along with peach slices for cobbler and things like freezer jam, homemade bread, unbaked cookie dough, etc. Because they are not in the house, it's easier to defrost, if it melts a puddle onto the floor it's easily cleaned. My daughter's freezer in in their breezeway, so easily cleaned there too. It's a bigger problem keeping the freezer contents organized than it is defrosting them, LOL. Annie

Thank you @User. I buy parchment paper cookie sheet liners on Amazon and the circles (with holes) for the AF I can get there too - for about $7.00 for 100. I wouldn't mind cleaning the silicone basket liner after each use; I don't think that would be a big deal. @girlnamedgalez8a I think we are talking about two different things. According to my findings today, always set your AF on a heat mat. The heat from the AF can damage countertops. That heat mat is silicone, but it is different from the silicone "liner" that goes inside the basket. From the looks of the liner on Amazon, it is very flat and has holes in it. Same as parchment paper liners, but reuseable. Again I don't think cleaning the liner after every use would be a problem. The cookbook and my manual say to clean the basket after every use and to deep clean periodically. The "after every use" appeared to be wiping out, although I guess that should depend on the residue left. Hope that makes sense - 2 things - liner and mat.
