vesale stone tile pic (so pretty)

As you can probably guess I am at the internet browsing stage supplementing with a few real life trips to tile stores and big box stores.

I just stumbled on this one and thought it was simply gorgeous (and low cost to boot.) Anyone have it?

Marazzi can put out a pretty bad product. It might look good, but in the past they've had problems with tiles not being consistent in size, or even having a slight warp.

They are one manufacturer that I try to steer people away from.

I have to say it is beautiful! Seeing as the price is reasonable couldn't she buy an extra box or two to offset the lousy pieces? Sheila, where did you find that?

Realtors say good bathrooms (esp the master) and kitchens sell houses. It is not a large spa-like bathroom, but it is clean, bright, open, nicely done. Hope you don't need another redo as soon as you move, but now you've tested all the design ideas nad skills to give you confidence if you do at some point.

I've seen some really cool great looking sheet glass backsplashes on this forum. You could think about that instead of tile, since you are going contemporary/modern, hate seams and will have lots of brick mortar lines competing with tile grout lines... the clean unbroken look of sheet glass might be nice. Can't comment on Corian in a kitchen, but we've had it on our main bath vanity counter for about 12 years. It is a light color and we've had no problems with it in the bath. I know someone will comment here who does have it in the kitchen. Your kitchen plans sound very interesting with the brick wall and the shelf just above countertop height. Knockdown is a combination of cement, sand, and acrylic plastics applied over existing concrete. It comes in a standard finish called Lace and can be done into patterns like herringbone brick, flagstone, and many others. The most popular Mfg is Sundek, try putting it into Google search. It'll be the most affordable upgrade to your existing concrete. Stamped, colored, and sealed patterned concrete overlay is beautiful. I'm not really a fan of it around pools because it beads water and can be slick. Kids with wet feet always run around pools in spite of a no running rule. In your application it would be awesome. Figure on double the price of Acrylic for it. On natural flagstone figure on 3 to 4 times the price. I'm curious, how large of an area are you planning on? See ya, Kelly

Those bottom two are probably some "premium" version of azul macaubas granite / quartzite. That's the stone Hubby and I really, really wanted but just couldn't justify the cost. We'll probably still have it as our fireplace surround.

I'm sure mongo (and Bill) know of what they speak but we have a house full of Marazzi tile. Kitchen floor, part of the den, small hall, both bathrooms and the dining room. DH laid it all. Sizes range from 12" to 20". He didn't have any trouble with it. Had some issues in the dining room but that was a hump in the concrete slab, nothing to do with the tile.

Thank you for the feedback everyone.
And I have not seen the tile in real life; I found it surfing the web. ( I believe it was on fastfloors which I have not actually purchased from but they have a pretty decent website).
