Children's Bathroom
Comments (2)How about a dish or clear bowl with those little soaps shaped like roses? Kind of old-school, but kids love little things like that, especially if they're actually allowed to play with them. :)...See MoreBathrooms for children I don't have...
Comments (32)I have two daughters under the age of ten, and we recently did a minor remodel of their bathroom. The MOST important thing I wanted for their bath were one handled lever sinks, like that Kohler one in the commercial. Little kids will turn on the hot water knob and scald themselve-it's easier for them to adjust the one lever than to try and remember which knob is the hot water and the cold. Plus they tend to just turn on and off the lever and not move it from side to side anyway so it's always on warm. The other thing we did was put in a speckled blue corian counter top. I think it was called Mediterranean, anyway, it's EXCELLENT at hiding toothpaste. My kids are kind of messy and I was so sick of always seeing white and blue toothpaste all over the place every morning. The corian totally hides it! If you can do a deep tub, it'll keep more of the splashes in. You can sit on a stool to wash them. We've had some major water spillage when they splashed too much in the shallow tub......See MoreEnsuite vs hall bathroom for children
Comments (9)I have two kids (we knew we were done at 2 when we built.) Our master is down, and we have 3 bedrooms plus a very large playroom upstairs. I have a boy and a girl and even though they were 7 and 10 when we built...I could foresee that having them share a hall bath could get pretty ugly as they hit the teen years, lol. Ds is a slob, and they both have a lot of friends sleepover...and since we were custom building, darn it, I wanted each to have their own! Here is what we did...ds's room is on one side of the house, with part of his bath sharing part of a playroom wall. I just asked the architect to add another doorway to ds's bathroom. It can be accessed from ds's room and the playroom. VERY convenient for ds and his friends. Dd's room and the guest room are on the other side of the house. She has a Jack and Jill with the guest room. We hardly ever have overnight guests (all of our family is in the area) so it functions like her own private bath. Anyway...this solution works well for us. And, if for some reason we ever decided to sell (don't plan to, ever!) that large bonus/playroom w/bath could function as an upstairs master if a family has very young children and wanted to be up there until they were older....See MorePlease help me with green paint for a children's bathroom
Comments (3)I just painted my family room a green color. This is the first experience I had with green anywhere in my house. The first color I tried was called Sea Grass by Valspar Signature Collection at Lowe's. This is a pretty color, but with my north facing room it wasn't right for the room. I ended up repainting the family room in Dried Chervil by Behr. Both colors are very pretty. Sea Grass is brighter, Dried Chervil is toned down. Hope this helps a little....See Moreqt314b
