We were in your shoes just a few months ago. Rates were super low and we were nervous about them going up. So we paid a small fee and locked in our rate for 60 days (4.875 30 year with a 1 point rebate). We were about the same position you were. What wound up happening was the builder kind of slacked off for the first few weeks and the last 2 he worked like mad. We actually got done (probably not enough for a CO, but that didn't matter since we weren't in the city limits), but the title company couldn't close us in time. It wound up working in our favor because rates had gone down and we got a 4.5 rate with the same closing costs and closed almost 3 weeks after our original target date (delay because of broker and title company, not building). As far as timeline, we poured in late March (the 22nd I believe), and we moved in July 31st. Good luck! Now you don't have to stress each morning waking up to find out what rates are doing!

Did you ask your RE agent and/or the lender?

Last weekend the handle seized as it was pulled upward to lock the active door. After first removing, oiling and replacing the inside door handle, I repeated the process on the outside door handle with no luck. Today, I tried Kashmi's July 6, 2011 post regarding pushing out on the door while pushing down on the handle. This senior citizen had to alternate the pushing of door and handle, but with gradual movement of both. Finally gave it all I had left and the door opened! I've oiled the parts not accessible when the doors are closed and they operate better than when new. Thank you for the knowledge that it was not just this door lock that had jammed and the help to resolve the problem.

We are living in Costa Rica and have inherited a whirlpool washer model number 7EWTW1300YM0 that has many issues. The current one is serious. After adding an item mid filling cycle and shutting the lid the washer would not restart and ever since (when plugged and replugged) will click lock, click unlock, click lock, click unlock with the red lid locked light flashing. Eventually it stops but the machine is paralyzed with nothing but the red lid lock light on. I think the most pertinent information is I have run the diagnostic tests and with the Auto test everything is working fine. The error codes seem to change every time I fiddle with it but the original two were F5E1 and F5E3 both lid switch and locking and unlocking errors. When I go to the manual testing, the locking mechanism works fine lock, unlock no problem. When going to page 18 in the manual for Test #8 Lid Lock J15 appears to be in working order though it seems that the only issue can be a malfunction of the control panel (and J15) as the locking mechanism works (when checked manually). So after we unplug and re plug the machine.....click lock, click unlock, click lock and click unlock and nothing. Being in rural Costa Rica it is not easy to find parts so if that was the path that I must take I really want to be sure that it is the right part! Please help if you can as I have read so many similar posts but none seem to be able to help solve our problem.
