I E stays exactly the same, you are not affecting it. To use IE just click on the IE icon on the desktop, to use Chrome or firefox or any other browsers just click on the icon for it on the desktop. You can have more than one open at a time if you want. It is just another program. I don't think it will affect the hard drive they are not to large. Whether it will be faster depends on why it's slow. If it is your Internet Speed connection then it won't matter. What you can do that might help is start the video then pause it while it finishes loading, you can see the progress bar, then start viewing it, that allows the buffer to catch up.

even mastic sealing ducts they are still located in the hot attic. R-38 insulation on attic floor isn't doing anything to keep air cool in R-8 ducts surrounded by attic temps. R-8 isn't anything when it is surrounded by 130 degree attic air. (this is why second floor's that share attic walls are difficult to heat and cool) rather than crawling around moving insulation in the attic to seal leakage between living & attic then caulking from inside the house to create an air barrier at the attic floor, foaming the roofline saves time. labor and materials vs one step install. also having blower door tested before work and after work is complete..it takes a LOT of effort to create the air barrier at the ceiling. I find the payback is 8-10 years, but the comfort is amazing when the foam is installed well. of course I test the foam once it is installed as well. and I mark areas that leak for foam company to come back and fix. its taken me a long time to recommend foam. I never recommend foam in walls, but in attics and under floors of homes on piers..is a good upgrade/investment. over the years I've run the numbers on all kinds of scenerios... traditonal vented attics. radiant barrier with foam on attic floor has a good performance...but you still have ducts in unconditioned space. getting the ducts into conditioned space is the best 'bang for the $'. in hot humid climates this is the install that works for us...unless moving ducts inside the conditioned space is an option. in design stages people don't do that, to expect some one to retrofit ..not happening often. foam prices are all over the road in different parts of the country. closed cell is more expensive than open cell. open cell is what we use for attics and is around $1.40 sq ft.

I know of a gas model, called the Polaris, I haven't heard much about it recently. But your two posts bring up an interesting idea: Use a gas tankless heater and combine that with a storage tank. Sounds a little nutty, I know, but hear me out. Contrary to popular belief, it's not the lack of a tank that gives a gas tankless the efficiency, it's the lowered fuel temps. It's also not having an uninsulated flue going up the center of the tank. So, particularly for people who have high demands that might otherwise be looking at more than one tankless unit, a tankless and a storage tank could make sense. A tankless like the Navien with a circ pump could heat the water as it was leaving the tank and also use the circ pump to keep the tank hot. On draw-down, it would eventually get to the point where it would only heat as much water as the capacity of the tankless heater. It would give you the high efficiency of the tankless, as well as hot water more quickly with large initial capacity. It might not be as expensive as might be expected since the size of the tankless could be reduced significantly... say 145k BTU instead of 200k. The smaller size could eliminate the need for upgraded gas service as well. Just a thought.

We were lucky that FSBO was not as common in our market. Even if the FSBO owner can check all of the boxes, as a buyer, I disliked viewing FSBO homes. Unless the owner leaves (unlikely), there is no way to really discuss the house with your partner, both good features and bad. It is not just that the owner and future negotiator is taking notes on everything that is said, they are emotionally invested in a way that the seller's agent is not. The seller's agent won't take offence if I want to rip out some hideous feature and ask my husband how much putting in what we want would cost; it is not wise to say anything about changes in front of an owner in case you end up wanting to make an offer. Discussing the numerous concerns later is difficult; my husband would not have noticed the same issues, and needed to check out the details on site to provide an opinion. I would always carry a camera with me during all viewings, and take photos of all types of things we might need to remember about the house. A seller's agent really could not care less what features and rooms I photographed. I also felt free to look up the fireplace chimney, open and close windows, or test the spongy room addition floor. I've seen owners become uncomfortable when I took a photo to remember the layout of a closet. It really curtailed what I felt comfortable photographing, and later it was difficult remembering things that needed to be discussed. Can you sell your property FSBO? Of course! But IMO that benefits the seller more than me, as a buyer. And I am a lot less likely to offer more than the asking price and get into a bidding war for a house that I've viewed only superficially. Although, a really nice lake view... ;-)
