Is the replacement a genuine HP cartridge?

Go to "Maintenance" and clean print head.

I cleaned everything twice........it is a remanufactured cartridge i bought....guess i will try to find a new printer.....nothing works

Bearing in mind that if the printer is working...I don't get the call... but I have encountered considerable reman catridge issues over the years, to the point where I don't recommend them at all. A perfect example is the reman Laser cartridges for the Lexmark 64x series that are "cheaper". Initially yes. The fact that they inevitably distribute toner all through the printer, requiring disassembly and cleaning (ie my time) is rarely factored into the equation. There is the ongoing technical and legal battle between the 3rd party folks and the OEMs - the embedded cartridge chips etc etc. Well, you get the idea. For those successfully using them - carry on!

before giving up on it I would try an actual HP cartridge, some of them do have problems with the re-manufactured ones. I have not had that problem with mine using the cartridges I get at walgreens but I have heard that some HP printers are quirky about anything other than an HP cart.

Can't remember if it was here on on KT forum that more and more printers won't take anything but their brand ink. Also, friend got new printer, tried different brand paper (photo) ink went all over, went back to Staples where she bought it, and they told her that she could only use HP photo paper. Her kodak paper ok on old machine, but not the new one.

Wow.....crazy! I decided to go with remanufactured since I am trying to "go green" when I can! Hoping to cut down on the landfills, and trying to do my part.......I have had several printers but never had this problem before....also refilled my own cartridges when I could. I had an epson once..loved it, and bought cartridges that lived outside of the machine with cables running into it(bought that separate tho), and all I had to do was keep refilling the cartridges outside of the machine........wish it hadnt died on me.........thanks for all of your input

There should be a law against printer makers charging outrageous prices for inks, and not letting the public know in advance.

I have always used non-OEM cartridges with no problem.

I have researched cartridge prices before purchasing my printer in the last 2 purchases. In the past, I inadvertently purchased a Lexmark that had crazy expensive cartridges.

make sure you pulled that clear tape off the print head.
