uploading problems from desktop

When I try to upload a photo into any program, I used to be able to click on DESKTOP from the menu. All of a sudden, the desktop option is not listed as an option. Any clue? Thanks in advance.

I would try a System Restore to a time when it was working.

Joe, I will do that when I have someone here to do it for me. I know I should be able to do it myself! Thank you. I was able to find my Desktop again by clicking around. So my immediate problem is solved.

I think the text layout and the pic width being too large or not, is largely computer display dependent. My wide screen display with my display settings (within Windows) set at 1680x1050 with the above photos at 1000px wide, don't mess with the text layout for me. So, the same things will look different from computer to computer, but when possible it's always a good idea to try and make things so they don't cause layout or viewing problems with most people's computers.

Locate the picture you want to send and select it with a single left-click. Don't open the picture. Now, use a single right-click and find the menu item which says SEND TO...MAIL RECIPIENT. If your default mail program is configured properly, it should start a new blank email message and should automatically ATTACH your picture to it. You won't see the picture but you should see a message that it is ATTACHED. Then enter the email address and send it. If you still have a problem after this, the possibilities are: too many pics being attached to the same message you are exceeding the size limit for file transfers imposed by either your ISP or theirs your recipient doesn't know how to save the file attached to the message and open it.

Here goes: OK it worked for me first try (a two toned phlox that I'm fond of). Perhaps it's fixed or maybe it was the luck of the draw. If I do have problems with Houzz' photo uploader, I'll just go back to using my ftp space that comes free with my email account. I used to do that a lot with the old garden web, which would only allow a single photo to be directly uploaded to a post. What bothers me more is that Houzz no longer allows you to use your own cover photo on your personal page. I don't want to use one of Houzz' generic stock photos; I want to use my own photo! Grrr! Fortunately I uploaded my own photo early on, while it was still allowed BUT I have a second elongated garden view that I had hoped to use alternately. It sure would be nice if Houzz would restore the "upload an image from your computer" function!

Sometimes I have problems posting pictures also. The app is slow uploading. Pictures that appear to be sideways somehow fix themselves after I have finished editing. I have double pictures in idea books that I have to delete. Crazy but like they say patience is a virtue.

Your subject line gave me a chuckle. Why would you need to upload problems from your desktop? I had to read to find out.

How did those problems get to your desktop? Do you need an app for that? Can I put my problems there, too? Once they are uploaded, will the cloud keep them away?

English is such a fun language.

Dear Susan, I used to have a mind and then I got old!!! I find that I can't get away from problems so storing them on my desktop is a great idea. I can pick and choose!! Sunshine in Ohio today so the cloud is not an issue! English is fun. Thanks for the smiles.
