O Christmas Tree

I'm finally getting around to posting pictures of our tree this year. I wrapped gifts last night so it has presents under and around it now. I'll never get it posted if I wait to go take more pictures with presents tho. I had a late night at the office and working again today.

It looks like a christmas tree cactus to me as I remember what I saw earlier today at www.cactuscollection.com. In the LIBRARY section you will come upon the christmas tree cactus and you can compare the photo against yours...it is a gorgeous specimen, by the way...I would probably buy a mini garland and mini lights and decorate it anyway!!! Not sure, OA, she just describes them as "seasonal tiles" that were purchased in a set that spells out Merry Christmas, Happy Easter, and Happy Birthday. There is no reference as to where to buy them. The book showcases homes of various friends of the author so many of the items may not be from the Nell Hill's stores. You might be able to contact them to inquire about them I guess. I actually got to visit the Nell Hill and Garrity's stores in Atchinson, Kansas a few years ago and they were spectacular! She now has a store in Kansas City also. Gail,we must be "kindred spirits", it's been so hot here and I've not been wanting to do much so I've been looking at allot of my old Halloween and Christmas magazines too. Wow -- I want to thank everyone who recommended Thymes' Frazier Fir diffuser. This is our first year with an artificial tree and I really missed the smell. Knowing GW, I did a search and found this perfect thread (!); going to the Thymes' website I found a local (I mean a seven minute drive, door to door) charming shop I'd never seen before. It was incredible! And for whatever reason, they sold it to me for $30 (it should've been $60); I protested but they said "no, that's the price." So I bought a few other bibelots to ease my conscience (and it wasn't hard because it was one of those incredible shops where you want to just move in!). Right down the street from this shop a man was offering hay wagon rides, so my four and two year-olds, husband and I all hopped on and had an incredible ride around this sweet and historic downtown. Then we found an outdoor skating rink, so we rented some skates and pulled each other around. On the walk back to our car a man was handing out homemade candy canes from his candy shop. My four year-old loves candy canes! And all of these wonderful things happened to us today because the generous people here on GW shared Thymes Frazier Fir diffuser. So now I have this gorgeous smell, know about this wonderful local shop, and had a wonderful, serendipitous Saturday. Thank you!

Of course, we all know which one is more fun!
I'm getting presents wrapped too, but it took a while for the fam to give me their lists!!

Don't work too hard, take time to enjoy the season.

STUNNING !! A truly gorgeous tree! (I also loved the peek at the big Teddy Bear. What a neat bear.)

I agree whole-heartedly with what Nana said. You must be related to the Energizer Bunny, I can't believe all you do. Every day! Wonder Woman for sure!

Nana, you made me LOL after a long day at the office which I needed. Wonder Woman huh? I love to decorate so stay up till the wee hours if that's what it takes.

Jeanne, I've had this bear for years. DGD packs it all over the house all year long. She calls her Bear and uses her just like one of her dolls for class. Now that she's in school, she's Miss Smith and the rest of us do as she says.LOL

Candy, sad but our kids do most of their own shopping and put it on one of our credit cards. They are in Spokane as I write this. We always buy a few gifts so they don't know Everything they are getting.

Oakley, I used alot of copper but it doesn't stand out as much as the gold.

PM, I sure don't feel like the Energizer Bunny tonight! That floor in the office is a tough one to stand on all day and we were so busy the day flew.

Thanks ladies for your comments. This tree is different. DD liked everything but those copper things hanging out of it.LOL If they were silver she would of loved them and so would I. Problem is they didn't have any left at 90% off.

Thanks Marlene, like I said in your post, I'm still thinking I should have an angel on top. I've had one up there for 38 years so it's hard to try something new. The one I have is burgundy and gold. Not sure it would go with this color scheme so will try to live w/o it this year.
