First time home buyer credit

The IRS says: "To qualify for the first time home buyer credit, the residence must be purchased. By statute, a residence which is constructed by the taxpayer is treated as purchased on the date the taxpayer first occupies the residence."

I doubt my home is finished by December 1, 2009 but I could certainly be sleeping/occupying a room or two there by then. I already live on site in a camper.

Or will I have to provide a certificate of occupancy?
