Sorry for not getting back to you earlier, I was out for the hollies. I'm not really sure! What Grandma did was to cut out the best part of the front of the card. Usually a scene or something. Sometimes there was a "back", other times just the shape. I found these and put a tiny hole in them w/ a paper punch and tied them onto the packages. Perhaps this idea works best w/ older cards. I haven't evaluated my cards from this year yet.

It's another euphorbia. Caper spurge, Euphorbia lathyrus. An annual but reseeds freely.

I frequently use freecycle. It's great for that type of thing that is totally usable, and you know that someone would want it. I have used it over the years, but particularly when we were in a downsizing frenzy and it was really so nice to know that the things were wanted and would be used again. I have done it for big items like furniture, but also craft supplies packing supplies (after the move), decorative small chotchkas, glassware, vases, tv's small appliances, you name it. Everything must be free. Go to www,freecycle.org and you will likely have to drill down to your state, city , etc.
