The place that supplied our shower door uses Clear Shield (they apply it, as opposed to ShowerGuard, which is applied during the glass making process I think).

The shower in question is in our guest bathroom, so doesn't see much use (except for a period of months last year while we were reno'ing our other two bathrooms). We opted to have Clear Shield applied anyway--it gave us a certain sense of "piece-of-mind."

Thanks Cat...after spending so much on the glass, I'm going to go ahead and order the sealer. It's called EnduroShield and is applied at the glass factory.

My sister paid the extra money and she is very disappointed with the results. She has terrible waterspots and has not been able to remove them. When she called the distributor they offered no help and told her that unless a squeege is used after every shower, the shield is not effective. So, how would that be any different than not having the shield?

Our contractor said he recommends Rain-X, the same stuff you use on your car windshield. He says it lasts for quite a while and can be reapplied. Also said you can buy an awful lot of Rain-X for the price of ShowerGuard. Has anyone ever tried that?

I have UV coating on my big windows in the rest of the house, and I find they get dog snarf and other things on them that don't want to come off. I'm concerned I'd have a similar problem and no way to clean the shower with a glass guard product on it over time.

Rsvlle-nj, has your shower enclosure been installed yet? We're considering Enduroshield also and we're hoping to find someone here who can share their personal experience with it.
