problem with new IE

I recently downloaded internet explorer 7.0. While I like it, I am forced to use Firefox against my will. When I use IE, I get a message after trying to use it for a few minutes that says "An error has occured with internet explorer and it needs to close." All I can do is click okay, and it disappears. Does anyone know what the problem can be, or how to fix? Thanks!

You might try disabling third party extensions to see if one may be the glitch. If so then you have to figure out which one.

On the Tools menu, click Internet Options, and then click the Advanced tab.
In the Settings box under Browsing, remove the checkmark from 'Enable third-party browser extensions' and then click OK.
Close all IE browsers for it to take affect.

You might also want to read the release notes.. and perhaps.. pay attention to the add in toolbars section. I've seen way too many tool bars causing browser problems with ie7 and ie6 too. Yahoo/Google/AOL/Etc some have way too many tool bars - and old ones at that.

Thank you both. Before either of you replied, I got antsy, and did a couple of different things. Not sure exactly what I did, but anyway, I now have IE10 and it works just fine. Previously the link by owbist wouldn't play, but now will play just fine. Possibly that was just a problem with my slow ISP that oftentimes is no faster than my old dial up service was. Now I have 'other' small situations, but will have to come back and work on them sometime later. Again, thank you both. Sue

You say the problem has existed for 4 days and you replaced a printer "recently", is this in the same 4 days? Did you remove the software for the HP printer fully before installing the Lexmark software? Did you follow the correct procedure as per Lexmark directions when installing the new printer? Go to Start/Control panel and double click on Printers and Faxes. How many printers are listed there? Did the error message refer to any specific .dll files?

Perhaps its sending via your ?Outlook Express? and the Send button has disappeared for some reason from the menu bar. Right click a blank spot on the menu bar area and choose customize ... then on left panel in the window that opens you will see send... move that to the right side to add it to the menu bar. Pretty simple once you see it.

I just got an email from my sister who has att mail with yahoo she is unable to access her contacts and the auto complete for the To: field is not working either. she had just updated firefox to 12 and thought that did it but I don't see how updating firefox could affect her contacts in email.

I had problems with it because I didn't understand what security I wanted. I added security without deleting any. I completely closed down my computer, and when I called our cable provider, he told me how to go back to an earlier time. I did that, and it reset to IE 6. That suits me for now.
